Post all of the information you know here so all of us can see what you, the great explorer of the internet, have dicovered.

I know that this miniseries will be like "Band of Brothers" although it is obviously based on the pacific campaign of WWII.

I have no idea when it'll be released, but its still in production according to IMDB - so I'm guessing we'll have to wait a while.

From what I've heard it's still several years away. I can't wait for it to come out. I wonder if they'll only focus on the land forces like in BoB or if they'll include naval combat as well.

It could be on a particular company like Easy Company.

very doubtful, since no company went all over the pacific like Easy Company did Europe. The latest I've heard is, that we're following several different aspects of fighting a war: Infantry, navy, airforce etc.

If they are "true" to history, this will not be an easy series to watch. The Pacific theatre was so much more mean and nasty. Things were done to both sides that I'm not sure I would like to see. Racism was rampant. Kamikaze fighters. Both sides wanted to KILL THE ENEMY.
Will they show Marines castrating Japanese soldiers and placing these parts in their mouths?

It would be hard to watch but I wouldnt put it past them, and I dont think it would be Band of Brothers if they didnt at least attempt to convey the reality of the situation.
