I think the more true to life the better because then its not twisted and you know what happened you dont hear it somewhere else and then get confused

and if its on a particular company like Easy Company it would be better i guess buyeither way real fake mix or based on a particular company it wont be better than Band of Brothers

This is great news. BOB was the best mini-series ever, so I had a feeling a Pacific version would follow. Can't wait for this. Give it to me now.

I'm not sure how I feel about it. It has the potential to be either really good or really, really bad. I wondered for a long time if there'd be another BoB type of thing, and I kind of wished that we had seen it from the German point of view. So in that way I'm a little disappointed by the fact that the next BoB will be a Pacific version.

But then, it being Spielberg and all, I can imagine it would have been hard for him to make one for the Germans.

Can't wait to hear more info about the series. I think it'll be decent. Hopefully people won't hold it to the original's standards and have unordinarily high expectations.

ye it sounds Brillo, if it is anything like BoB it will be terrific, it would be cool if they did band of brothers in the German perspective, but the whole pacific war will be cool.
does any1 no if it'll b just Americans or will there b a bit of the British in it also.

just a though but, wouldn't a north Africa sorta mini seris b cool.

According to imdb.com, it follows 3 marines, including EB Sledge, who wrote "In With The Old Breed", his first hand account of Pelielu and Okinawa. Awesome book. read it before this series hits!

I'm sure it will be great, I can't wait either!

And I agree, it would be interesting to see the other side too, to show the war from the German's pointof view too. But that would be very risky and a very, very delicate matter, so it's understandable they are staying away from it.

    The Pacific

I just finished watching it and I have to admit that I found it quite offensive. The only blacks were the servants of Eugenes parents. No white trash. No depression. Everybody lives the american dream, lives in expensive houses and drinks and eats in the best places. Only the beautiful white middle class boys winning the war and being screwed by all the lesser beings once they had won it. Who do they think is stupid?

I particularly think it is offensive to the soldiers themselves who were a citizen army from all walks of life, even black.

The question has to be : Are they selling what these men fought against?
