Is it realistic that a small American town only have 4 policeman?

    This is my question as I do not live in America? Can someone let me know? It seems Banshee has lots of bad guys. This show is great but the fact that the police is so outnumbered really bothers me.

    Only makes it more tense and dramatic. Police always seem to be outnumbered.

    Yes, it is possible for a small town to have so few cops...some very isolated towns also have no local police, but depend on state police.

    nothing about this show is remoetly realistic..just have fun...it is all over done as far as i have seen and then some...but it works if you let it...and it sounds like you are enjoying yourself...i watched the following on fox and was irritated at how unrealistic it was,rolling my eyes,going nuts over how impossible the purfoy characters luck was etc...but i just did not enjoy the way it rocked and rolled like this series..this one i love and it is as silly in its over the top unrealistic goings on...can't wait for another season!

    Small town...therefore call nearby town/city for backup as they did for a couple episodes.

    what did you watch on Fox that was unrealistic? I watched Banshee cold, not knowing what it was about and I loved it...I went with the flow and it was a wild ride...love the show! I'm obsessed just as I was with Dexter!
