  • About the episode

    It has great visual effects.
  • Pilot

The latest project from Alan Ball is very similar to his previous series, True Blood. A small town, lots of cursing, lots of nudity, lots of violence.

Yet that formula is appealing for a series on a pay cable station these days. Banshee did succeed in its pilot of introducing the core characters, their motives, and what lies ahead for each one.

The pacing was a little weak at times, and the characters are a little bit cliched, but this show still has promise.
  • A "Walking Tall" for the 2000's (sort of)

The show is quite good and/but very violent. It's a multi-character cast as well and if you can develop that many characters in a couple hours, first two eps; you've done a good job. Of course, it's hard to believe a guy could pull off impersonating a sheriff in this day of instant communication, but things like it have happened in real-life. BTW; Brit, Aussie and New Zealand actors are practically taking over American television, which is fine by me.
  • Pleased with the pilot

Show looks promising, but character development might be a potential hazard in the long run. I felt the show put too much effort into making it known that the protagonist is notorious for being a master thief, especially since he is a bad "master thief", seeing as he just came out of prison...

Actual rating would be closer to 8.75, but a 9.0 would be too much.
