Barney and Friends

Show Summary

Since 1992 Barney, Baby Bop, and B.J. have brought smiles to our faces with their non-stop adventures, stories, games, friends and, of course, the Barney Bag. Normally focusing on younger audiences, Barney teaches respect, courtesy, manners and many other essentials in life. Most children in the age group normally consisting of 2-8 watch Barney. Many of us have grown out of Barney but there are generations still to come who will enjoy Barney. The series won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Live and Direct to Tape Sound Mixing.

Characters:

Barney: His role on the show is to show everyone a good time. He has great friends whom sometimes visit the kids and tell stories or take them on adventures. He even has a bag of goodies known as the Barney Bag.

B.J.: He visits on occasion to play with Barney and his friends. B.J.'s role on the show is simply to help out or play games although he normally visits because he's looking for something he has lost.

Baby Bop: Baby Bop, who carries her blankie wherever she goes, is kind-hearted and very polite. She normally tags along with her big brother B.J. She does, on occasion, lose her blankie but with Barney's help, she always finds it. ((Trivia buffs: Baby Bop's favorite number is three.)

Barney & Friends Theme Song (to the tune of "Yankee Doodle"):

Barney is a dinosaur From our imagination And when he's tall, he's what we call A dinosaur sensation Barney's friends are big and small They come from lots of places After school, they come to play And sing with happy faces Barney shows us lots of things Like how to play pretend ABCs and 1-2-3s And how to be a friend Barney comes to play with us Whenever we may need him Barney can be your friend, too If you just make-believe him.

The Ending Song:

I love you You love me We're a happy family With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you Wont you say you love me too. I love you you love me We're best friends like friends should be With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you Wont you say you love me too.

I have a 2 year old and she watches nothing else but Barney. I am glad she hates spongebob as there is nothing educational about it. Barney is the best.

Beware of the cursing, violence and innuendo, parents !!! This show is just as bad as Family Guy, South Park, and TMZ.
  • OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!

Before we had Dora we had Barney. It's about a creepy purple dinosuar that comes to life by "imagination" and everything else is circled around it as well. Life doesn't work like that, you have to ACTUALLY do it and not just imagine it, this show fails to tell you that. Wait a minute, wa----------it I minute, maybe barney is a evil dinosuar hit by some kyrptonite that fell out from space 1,000,000,000 million years ago right before the intincxtion of dinosuars, he then turned purple given powers to go to the future and when to a daycare he then brainwashed the children their with his powers keeeping them from the truth. Another thing did you check out when this show was created, yeah it wasn't funny XD To top it, after the nightmare is FINALLY over it ends with one of the most ANNOYING songs in history!

It's a baby show however, I could care less about them honestly.moreless
