  • Special "hero" guests: The Green Hornet and Kato tonight on Batman.

From the very start excitement occurs, although no one will truly know from the first segment who truly is the villain of this episode. Not only are we the viewer fooled, but so are Ms. Pinkston, Commissioner Gordon, and even the ever clever duo of Batman and Robin fooled into believing that The Green Hornet and Kato are villains. For you see, the first segment has the two come into the Stamp factory and attack a supposed innocent bystander in Col. Gumm making the pair appear to be out doing villainous deeds. Why would a hero and his loyal sidekick attack someone without a proper motive. The reason isn't learned till later on in this episode that Green Hornet and Kato are hot on the trail of a stamp counterfeiter who turns out to be the above innocent bystander. Baffled me to find out that he was the actual villain. This show, however, is not centered on the villain but mainly the dynamic duo and their two guests. The tension between Green Hornet & Kato and Batman & Robin is awesome, but if you'd like to see more karate action from martial arts wiz Bruce Lee then watch the second installment. You do feel a sense that a joint effort could be established towards the end when both groups are captured.moreless
  • kato and the green hornet invade gotham city. the real villian hardly gets any recognition at all and batman worrys about getting his super hero status tarnished by the green hornet. kato could kick robins behind in real life so they let it end in a tie fmoreless

this show was where we had batman fighting the green hornet. two heroes against each other. batman thought that the hornet was a villain while the villain colonel gumm gets no nod at all like the penguin on the closing or opening credits. must be spinning in grave. i would.
