This episode seems to mark the Batman show's first overt reference to real life events - the New York Power Cut of 1965. I love Batman's showing off with the barbell at the end!

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • Dick places the Bat-TV camera on the counter, facing it directly toward Suzie and Nick. However, when Batman watches the scene from the Batmobile, he's looking at them from a side angle. Later, when Nick walks up to the counter and offers Dick a cigarette, the camera angle moves again even though the camera doesn't, and the monitor shows them from a side angle.

    • In the Batcave, Batman says it's a school holiday when he sends Robin to the candy store. However, later at the bar, Batman says that Suzie is at the school on a Saturday practicing cheers. Saturdays aren't school holidays.

    • When Batman calls to the basketball players, he lowers his cape. Then the camera cuts to Joker and Batman is holding his cape up again. Then they cut to Batman and his arms are casually lowered again.

    • Not for the first time, one wonders exactly where Batman keeps his Bat-Shield. It folds into quarters, which still leaves you with a piece of flat plastic about a foot square. Conveniently Adam West vaguely tucks it back behind his back and then the camera cuts away.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Policeman: Holy smoke!
Batman: Quick, officers, cut us out of here before the power comes on.
Robin: Or that's what we'll be, just holy smokes!

    • Gordon: A mobile slot machine/torture van. A possession of such a vehicle violates 17 separate statutes.

    • Nick: Why you gorgeous dumb hunk of cheerleader. Couldn't you see? That guy is strictly a phony!
      Susie: What do you mean?
Nick: Already had two packs today, eh. My blind grandmother could see. That guy never had a weed in his hand in his life!
      Susie: Good gravy.

    • Joker: A special extra bonus. A half-pint of the most exquisite imported Canadian perfume.
      Susie: Wow, Canadian perfume!

    • Joker: Have a sneeze on me, Batman! (Batman ignores his sneezing powder)
Batman: No use, Joker! I knew you'd employ your sneezing powder, so I took an Anti-Allergy Pill! Instead of a sneeze, I've caught you cold!
