This episode, along with "The Devil's Fingers", was a refreshing change of pace in that the normal routine of having Bruce and Dick summoned to the Commissioner's Office in full costume as the Caped Crusaders during the opening credits is disallowed, since Bruce and Dick are kidnapped by Louie the Lilac, who makes the second of two appearances in the "Batman" series. Bruce and Dick manage to outwit Louie for much of the time while out of uniform, which makes this show a standout. I only wish they could have had a technological auto-dresser device to change into Batman and Robin (a la The Jetsons). Still a great episode overall.
While I have always like Milton Berle, I think he was miscast in both the Louie the Lilac episodes; he just was not convincing enough, even with that cute female sidekick who is helping him corner the perfume market. Why she needs all those animals and their scent glands is beyond me; there must be a better way! The pills that are inflatable costumes when put in warm water was an interesting touch and they have piloted the Batmobile by remote control before. Barbara Gordon gets a sneak peak at the private study of Bruce Wayne (where the Batphone and Batpoles are located) but the ever-trusty Alfred manages to steer her aside.
