Checked this on YouTube today! I can't BELIEVE that some people are reviewing this episode as if it was supposed to be a genuine action adventure. Guys - c'mon! This is just a production team having a laugh on TV! Even read that Adam West highlighted this show as the point where the series lost all credibility. Adam - you are great in this episode! Don't be so hard on yourself! True, the show lost its balance of humor and darkness, but if ever an example were needed of how to interestingly adapt the concept by overplaying the zany, this would be it. It is brilliant hilarious entertainment from start to finish!

This is another one of my favorate episodes from the show and was one of it's last great ones, third seaaon may have been where the show lost a little moementum but this episode showed there was at least still some left. The plot from the episode I'll admit is really daft, the Joker steeling all the knowlede from a surf champion to be one himself. How the heck this crime lord can benifit from something like this is anyones guess, may'be it's just to boost his ego. But there were two things about this episode that really made it cool seeing Barbra Gordon in a black swimsuit, I'll admit she looked really good in it and I felt Batgirl was at her best in a little detail like that. But most of all it was the surf contest itself which was the payoff.

It's funny as hell, the fact that both the Joker and Batman are in swiming trunks without even taking their clothes off but most of all just the mere concept of seeing both Batman and Joker compete in surfing at all. It's just funny seeing the body movements as well as trade dialog while surfing which is rather unrealistic in real surfing and I don't know if it was intentional or not but either way it was fun and funny all the same. So surfs up.
  • The Joker kidnaps a champion surfer so he can get his surfing knowledge and win the surfing event.

This episode is what made Batman such a funny, campy, classic show. The Joker kidnaps Skip(the local surfing champion) so he can suck out his surfer knowledge and then apply it to brain. Barbara who is at the beach(wearing a nice black swimsuit with black mesh in the front to highlight her chest)with Skip reports the kidnapping to her father and he calls in Batman. The comissioner and O'hara also come to the beach undercover to try to find Skip. Batman & Robin are captured by the Joker and made into surfboards. They use their bat rays to escape. Batman then challenges Joker to a surf-off. Batman blows him away and even has time to avoid a shark while doing it. They find out Joker all kidanpped Hot Dog Harrigan. Joker tries to escape, but the terrific trio catch them. Great episode with my favorite villain of the series and getting to see Yvonne Craig in a sexy black swimsuit are the reasons to watch this episode.
