  • Trivia

    • Catwoman's henchmen are named after three famous fictional detective-adventurers: Sam Spade, Phillip Marlowe, and Simon Templar.

    • It is mentioned that if you cross the Gotham River, you wind up in New Guernsey. Across the Hudson River in New York, you're in New Jersey. Jersey and Guernsey are both Channel Islands, British territory next to France.

  • Quotes

    • Pussycat: But I'm just a rock-n-roll singer. I'm not a crook.
Catwoman: Oh, forget it. You're 20 years old. You're over the hill.

    • Pussycat: My name is Pussycat. I want to be alone with you, Robin.
Robin: Alone with me? But why?
Pussycat: I can see a very important part of your education has been grossly neglected.
      Robin: That's a funny-looking outfit you're wearing.
Pussycat: I could say the same for you... big boy.

    • Catwoman: Now either you're gonna be a singer or an arch-criminal. You can't be both.
Pussycat: Do I have a choice?
      Catwoman: No. You're too short.

    • Catwoman: If you agree to help me, I'll let you out. If not, Robin will cut the rope, the steel bar will snap, and you'll be divided into equal parts. In other words... (chuckles) you'll be besides yourself.

    • Catwoman: If you agree to help me, I'll let you out. If not, Robin will cut the rope, the steel bar will snap, and you'll be into equal parts. In other words... (chuckles) you'll be besides yourself.

    • Narrator: Holy Bat-Trap! What a decision! A life of crime or no life at all!! There's no way out! Or is there?? Tune in next week for the shocking answer!! Same Cat-Time!! Same Cat-Channel!!!

    • Batman: Catwoman, I find you to be odious, abhorrent and insegrievious.
Catwoman: Dealing with you has expanded my vocabulary and increased my word power. A whole lot.

  • Notes

  • Allusions

    • Batman: It appears she has the power to cloud men's mind.
Batman borrows the tag line from another famous caped vigilante: The Shadow. Created for the pulp magazines in 1930, Kent Allard took the secret identity of playboy Lamont Cranston, gathered an organization of operatives, and fought crime as The Shadow. The Shadow originally had no psychic abilities, but his "power to cloud men's mind" was created for the radio series to explain how he remained effectively hidden. In the comic book Bronze Age, The Shadow was one of the inspirations for Bruce Wayne to become Batman.

    • Robin gives a speech at the Aaron Burr High School. It is an unusual name for a high school but not chosen without reason. Aaron Burr, the third U.S. Vice President, became the center of controversy when he killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel and was later charged with treason. In this episode Robin seems to turn on Batman, in effect becoming a traitor.
