Bruce Wayne has a cliffhanger at the end of this story instead of Robin, who is in the batcave.
Commissioner Gordon reads a report about a giant sphinx, the golden statue (with a human body and a jackal's head) in Gotham City's Central Park. However a sphinx is defined as a feline (generally a lion) with the head of a human, not the other way around.
Notice when Bruce is ready to escape from the ambulance, the interior shot shows what appears to be a set of double doors (hinges at both sides, split down the middle), yet from the outside, it's the standard single rear door that's shown.
Narrator: Afternoon in Gotham Central Park. Noble sanctuary of nature in the midst of the teeming metropolis. Tranquility, peace, quiet... the deceptive quiet of the jungle. Where a criminal beast is about to spring!
Gordon: Giant sphinx? Uttering demented threats in Gotham Central Park in a woman's voice?
O'Hara: Sure'n it could be harmless, sir.
Nefertiti: Now hear this. Now hear this. Whosoever transgresses upon the sacred Sphinx shall be smitten down by Anubis, the jackal god, guardian of the cemeteries. And that goes double for Batman.
Robin: Holy whiskers! That was a close shave!
Narrator: Holy cliffhangers!! Bruce Wayne hurtling toward an awesome abyss!! What will be his fate? How can he possibly be saved this time? Be in front of your Bat-Sets tomorrow night. Same time, same channel. One hint: The most horrendous is yet to come.
King Tut: (To Nefertiti) How many times must I tell you? Queens consume nectar and ambrosia not hot dogs!
The ambulance was later used as the Ghostbusters car in the 1984 movie Ghostbusters.
In addition to the SuperFriends series, Olan Soule voiced Batman in Filmation's The Batman/Superman Hour. Ironically, he was replaced by Adam West when Filmation did their next Batman series in 1977, The New Adventures of Batman and again in Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show.
King Tut made his first appearance in the Batman comics, Batman Confidential # 26 in April 2009. The villain's real name, Victor Goodman, is a tribute to Victor Buono.
King Tut is the first original major antagonist for Batman, one not previously found in the comic books!
