    • TRIVIA (1)

    • QUOTES (9)

      • Egghead: Back! Back, I say! This is a radar egg. And the slight vibration will make it eggsplode and turn this into a room carpeted with wall-to-wall millionaires.

      • Gordon: Too late! Midnight came and went, and with it the fate of Gotham City.
Chief Screaming Chicken: You no show up, me now own 'em Gotham City and all suburbs. That is the way the wigwam watusis.

      • Robin: This is the saddest day of my young life, Batman.
Batman: What will be, will be.
Robin: Goodbye, Gotham City, you were my kind of town.

      • Robin: What does it mean, Batman?
Batman: It means we've got that criminal by his large, grey, double A head!

      • Gordon: Batman and Robin were gone from our ranks less than 24 hours, Mayor Linseed, and you were witness to the havoc that was wrought. Call them The Dynamic Duo, The Caped Crimefighters, The Foes of Felons. Call them what you will, but... thank your lucky stars we can call them our friends.

      • Batman: Miss Bacon, I'm puzzled why a girl of your obvious breeding, education, style and class should have become involved with someone like... Egghead.
Miss Bacon: I guess I'm just lucky, Batman.

      • Gordon: Batman, we owe you a debt that can never be repaid.
Batman: Good city government is its own reward, Commissioner Gordon.

      • Chief Screaming Chicken: My face is so red!

      • Egghead: Woe is me. My criminal career is now eggstinct!
        Batman: Foolish, evil man!
Robin: You're going to go where all the broken eggshells end up: in the garbage!

    • NOTES (3)

    • ALLUSIONS (4)

      • Batman: What will be, will be.
Batman quotes from the 1956 song "Que Sera, Sera" written by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans.

      • Plainclothes Detective: Just the facts, ma'am. Would you please give me just the facts?
Referencing Joe Friday, the main character in the Dragnet series (1951-59, 1967-70), portrayed by Jack Webb. The police detective avoided showing emotion as much as possible, and would often interrupt a witness going off on a tangent by stating "Just the facts, ma'am."

      • Robin: Talk about Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde!
Referencing the novella, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, written in 1886 by Robert Louis Stevenson. In this novella, researcher, Dr. Jekyll, creates a serum that inadvertently unleashes the bestial side of the human personality by creating a second personality. Dr. Jekyll's second personality goes by the name, "Mr. Hyde." The novella has since inspired dozens of book, movie, and TV adaptations and parodies.

      • Gordon: Is this the way it's all supposed to end, Mayor Linseed, not with a bang, but with a whimper?
This is an allusion to the last stanza of T.S. Eliot's The Hollow Men.
