Has anyonenoticed the similarities? Im sorry if this was discussed but the movie "Mask of Zorro" and Batman Beyond had so many things in commonI wanted to mention it. I know that Batman was originally inspired by Zorro, but the movie starring Antonio Banderas and Anthony Hopkins bear a striking similarity to this show. Both the original Zorro and Batman retire. Both were wealthy "playboys" but during their retirement have lost everything. Both take on a new protege'. Boththe new Zorro and the new Batman have a history in crime. Both new Zorro and new Batman are sarcastic and crack jokes, especially about their mentors. Both mentors are frustrated with their pupils. What other similarities can be found?

Well, in both stories, the main enemy of the original hero is defeated by the apprentice (Joker & that mustached guy).

Hey, I never noticed that but you're right. The movie and the idea for the show are very similar.

I liked that Zorro movie. I didn't see the new one but I'll check out the DVD

Bruce didn't really lose everything though.

He' still worth a lot of money, he just has someone else run the company (which it's shown that he still has power at).

Not exactly. Powers pretty much took over Wayne Enterprises in a hostile takeover. I think Bruce still holds on to some power, but it's not like he wanted Powers in there.

Meh. There are alot of mentor-apprentice films like that. It's a fairly common formula.
