    Was this show based on a Comic by DC, or did the DCAU people just come up with this idea?

    Word is that the DCAU people came up with the idea and then DC created a comic based on the show.

    Yeah. The show came first and then was brought into the comic realm. The same thing happened with Smallville.

    Technically it was based off of a comic, the Detective Comics. =P

    But the whole Terry McGuiness and the futuristic world is theirs.

    I Think what Zmally was trying to say was that Smallville was derived from the Classic Superboy comics. A revival, as it were, of an archetype character placed in the 21 centry. As most comic book heroes are in TV and Film a loose interpretions of there Comic book counterparts. It is Based but not acted out as a Superboy live action show.
