Batman Beyond: Max opinion thread: Like her or hate her?

Hey everyone, given how most fans at other sites have stated their digust in Max and her whole presence in Batman Beyond (Season 2 onward) I was surprised to see no one here hasn't stated their opinions on Max or that nobody seemed to hate her.
My opinion on Max is that her role in Batman Beyond was way too big as a character, she only seemed to be on the show because moronic network executives wanted more girls to watch a boy's action show. She seemed to take away screentime from characters like Bruce Wayne, Terry's mother and brother, and Dana. Because she was written to take up all the roles those characters played in both Terry's Light and Dark world. I thought Max was written like a Mary Sue, her superfluos presence hurt the show when she was present IMO.
What is everyone else's thoughts on Max on Batman Beyond?

She got in the way, but I don't hate her. We needed an Alfred style character. However, it sucked that she eclipsed Dana and even Bruce in terms of importance most of the time. I don't even think Mary and Matt were in season 3... which sucks. Max should have been restricted to about 5 episodes, but she got a bit overexposed.

Yeah, we got a bit to much of Max, hell in BTAS we never got that much of Alfred.

I didn't really mind her. Though I think they did use her a bit too much. I mean if TPTB liked her so much, why wasn't she in Return of the Joker? I think the movie is excellent was is probably better without her but it's just a bit weird how Terry kind of relied on her quite a bit for everything else but not against one of the greatest villains in the DCAU.

Generally, i liked episodes like hidden agenda and wheres terry, but she was used way too much, in episodes where she wasnt a main character. I wish we got that much Alfred

Exactly. It was the same problem like in The Batman. Bruce appear a lot like Alfred, but when Max arrived (Batgirl, Robin) He got oof the screen

Yeah Batgirl in the recent "the Batman" was just annoying.

As far as Max goes, I didn't really like the voice actress, but Max was kinda good looking and not totally horrible a character. But overall if she had less air time, then it would've been better. At least she didn't get serious with Terry in the end and that Terry would likely propose to Dana [JLU's epilogue].

i hated her, all she did was get in the way, she was so annoying, the only reason why she worked with terry cause she knew his secret identity.

Expressed my sentiments exactly, she fits perfectly in the mold of a Wesley Crusher type character with an annoying personality, unnecessary screen time and all.

I'm indifferent to her. I liked her a hell of a lot more then I liked Dana. I wish Terry had dated her instead of Dana.

I liked Max, but she did get way too much screen time. I thought it was nice for Terry to have someone other than Bruce to talk to about his Batman life, and she did help in covering up for him during his Night job.

It was Terry's on Oracle. Bruce had Barbra and Terry had Max. I liked her, added some sense of humor! Very nice addition!
