is it just me or was this a terrible way to end the series, it was a great series and it deserved a better ending. Maybe a 2 parter where blight comes back more powerful than ever or a villian like clayface, firefly or an old batman villian returning, just my opinion

I'd have to agree as well, it didn't feel like an ending at all; just an abrupt stoppage in the storyline.

I choose to think of the Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker as the last episode. It was the best way to end it with the Joker.

Well really, the Justice League episode, "Epilogue" is the series finale of Batman Beyond, and also one of the best episodes of the entire Justice League series. It really does tie up everything you have to know about Batman Beyond. I say everything you "have" to know, because the Epilogue still certainly leaves threads hanging, and things that you would like to know.

On the dvd The creators said that they didn't really do season finale/series finale practice until Justice League. When they made the last episode they just made it like any other episode. Return of Joker is probably seen more as a series finale than the last episode anyway.

I have heard, like the others, that Epilogue from Justice League was the series finale. I, too, like to think of Return of the Joker as the series finale, however. It was a perfect ending, and really had some classic lines and scenes. But you have to love how Epilogue ended. The classic music, Batman flying by the 'blimp', just like the first episode of B:TAS. Classic.

That's how I've always thought of it, except The Joker is never really "gone".
