Did anyone else think it was messed up that Dick was not in ROTJ? I know he just started out on his own, but he would have gone back to Gothem to help Bruce and Barbara look for Tim. Even at the end of the movie when Bruce, Babs, and Terry visit him but no Dick. I would have settled for Tim saying Dick visited me the other day or Babs saying I told Dick about what happened, and he said he's on his way to see how your doing.

I never really thought about him in Return of the Joker, but I have always wondered what happened to him during the time of Batman Beyond.

It would certainly have been nice to see him (especially since he didn't make a proper DCAU appearance outside of B:TAS/TNBA) but if he had shown up too, the movie may have felt cluttered. The inclusions of Barbara and Harley suited the movie and fulfilled specific purposes, but Dick didn't need to appear. I think his absence is a gentle reminder that the Bat-family was never the strong unit it could have been, since too many bridges were burnt between Batman and his three partners. Though Dick knew Bruce the best of the three of them, he also knew that Bruce could never change and be the father figure he originally promised to be. While Barbara and Tim are able to pull together with Bruce at the end, Dick is nowhere to be found because not all of the mistakes of the past can be erased. That's how I view it, anyway.

But the JLU cameo was not enough; I wanted to see him again too.

But at least a phone call or something to mention he was going to visit Tim. As angry as Dick is at Bruce I do not think he would completly cut ties wiht all of his family like Alfred and Tim.

Grudge Match Nightwing is the shadowy figure on a rooftop in Bludhaven, aftere Hunteress goes there.

Also in "The Savage Time", in the alternate timeline Batman's hideout, you see a group that looks like Dick, Babs, and Tim.

I loved that scene, I wish Dick and Tim were at least mentioned in Justice League.

It would have been cool to see them, but the creators were trying to aviod things they'd done a lot previously. We should just be glad that Joker and Harley showed up.

Which sucks... They took characters from Superman to be in JL and JLU all the time but it felt like Batman characters were being neglected. I remember reading an interview by someone who had worked on both TAS and JLU saying somthing along the liens of "We weren't too disappointed that we couldn't use Batman characters. After all there are plenty of other characters from other heroes stories to explore." I'm not sure what it was about that interview but it p!ssed me off. I think it was because they made it sound as if they were leaving behind Batman characters and neglecting the fact that BTAS was the show that began the entire DCAU and that without it there would be no JL(U)...

The thing is that not all Batman's enemies are world threatening to be on Justice League. The only characters I can see were Joker, Ra's al Ghul, Clayface, and Mr. Freeze that could have gone solo and carried a whole episode. I don't think they were dissing B: TAS but they were saying it was a chance to explore other DC comic characters, that they couldn't explore because some heroes just aren't going to get their own series and so their characters just aren't going to used. I don't know too many people who know about Green Arrow if they aren't a comic reader. You have to figure they had 85 episodes of B: TAS and 24 episodes of TNAB to explore the Batman characters so it wasn't that much of lost not to use them for JL/JLU.

I would have loved to see Nightwing or Robin in the background of a episode or actually helping the League, but they probably didn't want to use so many Batman characters when they had seven superheroes to use in JL and by the time JLU was on The Batman was on the air perventing them from using them in a episode. They could only use Speedy because Teen Titans had just ended. If The Batman had come on a year or two later than we most likely would have a episode with Nightwing, Robin, or Batgirl.

That shocked me when I first saw "Patriot Act" and I exclaimed, "What's Speedy doing here?". It was a great surprise for me because the UK got the last 9 episodes of JLU first.

When the end credits of the episode before "Patriot Act" came on, I had to rewind and slow down that quick glimpse of Speedy about 5x before I got a good look at him and I was all "WTF?!".

Anyone listen to the cometary of Little Piggy? Bruce said that they original planed to have Joker in the beginning of the episode robbing a bank trying to lore Batman into a trap, but Batman ignores him with Wonder Pig in his hands saying they would get her help. The Joker is so shocked that he tells everyone to stop robbing the bank and starts to freak out. I wished they had gone with that idea I laughed so hard when I heard it.

A episode with Dick in BB would have been awesome. I wonder he started a family like Tim and Barbara?
