It's gonna be called "Beware The Batman"

Sam Register confirmed the title of the next animated Batman series, due in 2013. Register, executive vice president for creative affairs at Warner Bros. Animation, closed the MIP Junior conference in Cannes, France on Sunday, October 2nd, 2011, with a keynote address on upcoming Warner Bros. Animation plans. MIP Junior is an intensive two-day conference agenda of debates, interactive workshops, pitching and matchmaking sessions that update executives and consumers on the latest developments in kids' entertainment. With a new Batman theatrical feature slated for next year, Register says it was synergy to bring about a new Batman animated series.

The next Batman animated series, debuting in 2013, is titledBeware the Batman. According to Register, the CGI animated series will spotlight a classic-looking Batman teaming up with a gun-toting Alfred Pennyworth and a female ninja sidekick.Beware the Batmanis executive-produced by Glen Murakami, and will explore the mythology's more obscure villains, such as Professor Pyg, but also won't shy away from featuring some of the more well-known Batman foes.

Concerning villains slated to appear in the series, Register commented, "We went in deeper into the villain library and pulled out some other villains. We didn't want to do another Joker story...there's too many of them."

"We just needed to do something new, so we're starting off with new villains," he concluded.

In the series, Batman will team up with a younger female sidekick named Katana. During the keynote, Register added that Katana will fill the sidekick role, but won't be a replacement for Robin.

"Katana is gonna be his new Robin, but not necessarily," Register said.

Can't say I'm liking the artwork. I dunno, maybe it's just a bad promo pic.

Man it is dead on the board. I am not liking the animation, but I wasn't crazy about The Batman's animation and I liked that. It is nice to see they are introducing the villains Morison created in his run on Batman. I kind of wish this series revolved around Dick and Daimen though.

"CGI animated" "gun-toting Alfred" "we didn't want to do another Joker story" haven't seen a single episode and I already hate this show

Lame! Morisson's villains should be cool though, but other than that, it just looks awful. Should probably wait to see an episode first though.

Also not a big fan of the art. I think it'stime to stop with the Batman shows and try highlighting other DC heroes with their own shows.Deware the Batman will make for thefourth Batman series in atwenty year span.
Don't get me wrong, I hope it'll be great and will definately watch. I just wish they'd waited a little while longer before throwing a whole new Batman at us.

Agreed, give me a series about Flash or someone. (oh well, at least we're getting Green Lantern)

Yup, Flash would be a great show--something different. Wouldn't mind a kind of hero spotlight episode (2-parters for each hero?) Something to spotlight obscure characters, I guess a sort of DC Anthology show.

I want to see a Superman cartoon again or better yet see a reboot of Batman: Beyond.

Wasn't "The Brave and the Bold" created for that? Wasn't it about Batman teaming up with a new hero each episode? I thought it was created with that purpose, at least in most episodes.. (I could be wrong, tho, I only watched 2 or 3 episodes of the show)

I agree about Superman, but I don't think they can top S:TAS and I strongly disagree about Batman Beyond, it's unique and perfect the way it is... rebooting it would be a disaster , in my opinion...

I don't like this new Batman animation at all and all of the new Batman animation shows nowdays are terrible as hell, the 1992 Batman the animated series will always be number 1 not the ugly terrible Batman shows they got out nowdays.

I think it'd be cool if they made a spinoff of B:TAS about the Gray Ghost. (if they got Adam West to voice the character, you know you'd watch it)

Yes, but that was with Batman, plus it was blatantly kiddy; I was thinking more of a DCAU type of thing, just anything that doesn't have batman and/or superman as the main characters.

Wasn't there a Katana character in the original Batman and the Outsiders comic? She was dressed in yellow and red or something, if i remember right. Is this going to be her, in effect? or is it a brand new character?

And while i'm at it, let me add my vote to the side that says the artwork in the picture doesn't impress me either...
