When Bruce was in the falling elevator, was he wearing his Batman costume underneath his business suit? He evidently wasn't carrying it in a briefcase or similar, as can be seen from previous shots.
Lucas: You're about to fall out of orbit, Batman!
Alfred: You gave him ten million dollars, sir!? To think I was fretting over the electric bill.
Nostromos: That which you seek and cannot find is the seeker. You are merely the eye trying to view itself.
Bruce: This is awfully deep.
This episode is episode 19 on the Batman: The Animated Series Volume 1 DVD.
Bruce: "As The Bard said, 'The fault lies not in the stars, but in ourselves'"
'The Bard' that Bruce quoted is William Shakespeare. It was a line from his tragedy Julius Caesar.
The character Nostromos is a reference to Nostradamus (1503-1566) the French doctor and astrologer who wrote Centuries, a famous collection of prophecies published in 1555. The prophecies in Centuries appear in four-line rhyming verses called quatrains. In vague language, they describe events from the mid-1500s up to the end of the world, which is predicted to happen in AD 3797. Many people have interpreted the prophecies in Centuries, connecting certain ones with events that have taken place since Nostradamus's time. The name "Nostradamus" is a Latinized version of his original name, Michel de Nostredame.
