The Penguin: Earl, my good fellow. I'm afraid the warranty on this vehicle has just expired.
Batman: Earl! He kept saying "basement". It's a racing term. When drivers crash, they say they've gone down in the basement. He was trying to warn us!
The Penguin: (to Earl) And how, pray tell, did that costumed clown give you such a bad case of loyalty?
Earl: (The Batmobile is virtually demolished) What happened?! You've letting the kid drive again?
Robin: (sarcastically) Ha ha...
This episode, along with "Birds Of A Feather" was released on VHS as The Adventures Of Batman & Robin: The Penguin. Later it was paired up with the VHS The Adventures Of Batman & Robin: Poison Ivy (consisting of "Eternal Youth" and "House And Garden") on DVD.
The logo on Batman's chest in Earl's flashback references Bruce's costume in Batman: Year One establishing that the flashback occurs early in Bruce's crime-fighting career.
This is the only appearance of Earl and Marva Cooper in this series.
When Batman meets Earl in his old Batmobile, a wanted poster with Batman's silouette flies by. He is wanted with a $1,000,000 reward.
When the Penguin reads the "1 Bat 4U" license plate, its says "The Dark Deco State" on the bottom. "Dark Deco" refers to the stylized looks of the environment on Batman: TAS.
According to a sign that the Batmobile passes, Gotham City's nickname is "America's Playground".
It's become something of a tradition for the Penguin in the many mediums that Batman has existed in (comics, live-action television, motion-pictures) to steal or take over the Batmobile at one point or another; this is the animated series' entry into that tradition.
Batman's old Batmobile seems to be based on the 1950s comic book version.
Porky Pig
Falcone: Buh-Buh-Buh-Buh-Bat's all, folks!
At the end of the classic Warner Bros. cartoons, Porky Pig would always appear to say, "Th-The-The-That's all, folks!"
