  • review

The Ultimate penatitude episode featuring the RIDDLER. {True "If your so Smart why arnet you rich" was good to introduce the Riddler}. SADLY NO GOOF EPISODES AS RIDDLER WERE EVER IN THIS SERIES.
  • fine Riddler example

this was the worst episode featuring the Riddler but I think he is such a great villain that his worst episode is pretty good. The hole plot was really well written and all the riddles were really good, like the doors part the chess part and the coins part. It was pretty useless that the Riddler took Batman to that car place because he wasn't there, only with a van to kill him but that's not what the Riddler always wants, he wants to challenge Batman. Overall it was a nice epiosde, but I personally prefer the other Riddler episodes like "If you are so smart why aren't you rich" and "Riddler's Reform"moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • When Batman is in the virtual reality world, he sees a door that says "??RIDDLE??" but when he gets closer, the door now says "RIDDLE???"

    • Look Close: In the scene where Batman, Robin, and Comissiner Gorden are in the computer lab, we that in one shot Robin is in black and white.

  • QUOTES (2)

    • (trying to determine the answer to a riddle involving 4 quarters and one penny)
Batman: (remembering the Riddler's instruction) When you add it all up, it makes sense.
Alfred: 'Cents' is also another term for money.
      Batman: Cent, red cent...copper!
Alfred: And copper is another term for policeman.
Batman: Police (looks at the 'heads' on the coins) head...quarters!
Alfred: And 4 quarters and 1 penny equal 101 cents.
      Batman: Police Headquarters, room #101.

    • Batman: Where does a 500-pound gorilla sleep? What's worse than a millipede with sore feet? How do you fit five elephants into a car?
Alfred: Wherever it wants, a giraffe with a sore throat, and two in the front, two in the back and one in the trunk.

  • NOTES (3)

    • Yellow Submarine

The "corridor of doors" that Batman finds himself in strongly resembles the "pierhouse corridor" near the beginning of the Beatles cartoon movie Yellow Submarine. This is even more strongly reinforced when Batman opens one of the doors, and a train comes out, exactly as happened in the scene in Yellow Submarine.

    • The Riddler: No coaching from the peanut gallery.

The peanut gallery is a theatre term for the highest tier of seats in the house. These seats are commonly the cheapest, and have historically attracted the rowdiest patrons, those most prone to throwing peanuts should something on stage fail to please them.
