  • Not quite as awesome as last season's two-parter, but still a lot of fun.

    9.0
After an absurdly long break, Batman: The Brave and the Bold returns in style, it's been a while since I've seen this one, but I remember pretty much what happened, this is the first part of the conclusion to the whole Starro invasion, which other episodes have build up to. Was it worth all the wait? Yyyyeeess, you see, I don't think it's as good as last season's two-parter, Deep Cover for Batman and Game Over for Owlman. However it's still a lot of fun, the opening is a bit puzzling, why is B'Wana Beast narrating? Don't get me wrong, I could listen to Kevin Michael Richardson all day, any day, but why does he of all the heroes on the show narrate? It all makes sense in the second part which will air next week. This is really B'Wana's story, or it will be, Starro is defeated surprisingly easy, but of course it's not over just like that, but yeah, it's a ta disappointing. The fights with Faceless Hunter are by far the best thing about the episode.

The ragtag group of heroes is fun and their interaction and banter is amusing, Capt. Marvel's reaction to B'Wana's powers was very funny. And of course we get the classic, hilarious one-liners tha this show does so well, "Earth is off the menu" is probably the highlight for me in this particular episode. The action is great and the number of characters that appears, you could have fun searching the frame and spot all the various characters. The ending is quite interesting and surprising, I have a bit of trouble deciding if this is better than the second part, but I am sure that it is a very entertaining episode, glad to have you back Batman: The Brave and the Bold.moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • When Batman's team approaches the transmitter in Star City, Mister Miracle, Blue Beetle, Red of the Challengers of the Unknown, and several Green Lanterns are waiting for them, hovering in mid-air. However, Red has no ability to fly and there is no indication that the Starro drones can or would give new superpowers to the heroes they possess.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Booster Gold: So let me get this straight. After scouring the globe, we got ourselves a couple of kids...
      Billy and Jason: Hey!
      Booster Gold: A gym coach...
      Ronnie: Science teacher.
      Booster Gold: And a... what?
B'wana Beast: B'wana Beast. How you doin'?
Booster Gold: This is all that's left to fight the greatest threat to humanity ever?
Ronnie: Yeah. And who are you supposed to be?
Booster Gold: Uh, Booster Gold. Hero of the 25th century.
      Ronnie: Never heard of you.

    • B'wana Beast: From the beginning, mankind has faced... villains! Selfishly pursuing their dark agendas. Greed. Domination. Destruction. But always rising to oppose them have been heroes. A breed apart. Men and women of valor, selfishly leaping into the fray. Battling for justice and protecting the innocent. What makes a hero? Courage, powers, these are the questions that would be asked about those unlikely few who stood up to the greatest threat this world ever faced.

    • Booster Gold: No thanks necessary. It's just a great feeling to know that, when Batman needs help, Booster Gold's at the top of his speed-dial.
Batman: You weren't the first one I called.
Booster Gold: Number two's not bad.
Batman: You weren't the second, either.
Booster Gold: As long as you called.
      Skeets: You called him, sir.
Batman: I think you know the way out.
Skeets: We should go before he sics the dog on us again.

    • Booster Gold: Global meteor strikes? A strange signal from Star City. This all sounds really familiar. Today's not... the third. Listen, I'm pretty sure something big happens today. Huge, in fact.
      Batman: Go on...
Booster Gold: Details are a little fuzzy, but I think it involves a diaper truck.
      Batman: Ace...

    • Batman: I've modified my communicator so only those with uncompromised synaptic responders can receive the signal.
Booster Gold: What, like a dog whistle? Cool.

    • Captain Marvel: (asking about B'wana Beast's powers) A kangaroo and a lizard?
      B'wana Beast: Yep.
Captain Marvel: An earthworm and a rhinoceros?
      B'wana Beast: Easy.
Captain Marvel: A dog and a... a slightly smaller dog?
B'wana Beast: Do you really have to ask?
      Captain Marvel: Awesome!
Ronnie: We're all going to die, aren't we?
      Firestorm/Jason: Pretty much, yeah.
