  • This episode is about as bad as they come.

Captain Apollo is forced down and finds himself on a planet right out of the wild west where the people live in fear of a cylon enforcer in the employ of a ruthless bully. As the fleet moves on and the other warriors frantically search for him, Apollo sets up house with a widow and her pre-teen son who have a special reason to hate the cylon more than most others.

Apollo wants to fight the cylon, but the woman stops him. Understanding she is afraid, he agrees not to fight and then takes heat from the others in the community for being a chicken. Later, after the boy takes a shot at the cylon and is wounded, Apollo gets riled up and meets the cylon out in the street for a wild west style showdown.

Once the situation is handled, we find out the widow's deceased husband was also a colonial warrior and died trying to face the cyclon down. His ship is still intact and has enough fuel to allow Apollo to return to the fleet just before it passes out of range.

This episode was pretty much a stinker. Even as a kid who loved this show, I couldn't help but wonder why they allowed this particular episode to go forward. Shows like this were the reason this series didn't last long.
