Goof: Red Eye carries a Colonial weapon rather than a Cylon one. If his own weapon was somehow damaged in the crash, then Martin must have been foolish to have allowed an unarmed Cylon to kill him when he himself had a laser pistol. Martin's wife cuts off her rendition of the event at that point. While out of grief, of course, it works out nicely in keeping the writers from having to deal with the question.
Goof: This society, which knows of and has contact with advanced alien civilizations apparently never has developed firearms. It seems odd with all of that technology around them that they rely exclusively on air guns ("pneumos").
Goof: Vella tells Apollo how much she hates "guns" and that she would not even have their "pneumos" (compressed air guns, the common arm on this planet) if not for the threat from the wolf-like lupis. And yet when she goes outside to meet "Red-Eye," she takes a pneumo despite the lack of lupis threat.
Goof: This episodes starts the pattern of the Colonial Fleet encountering a human outpost, and then leaving them behind. The Cylons pursuing the Fleet would destroy these relatively defenseless human communities in their bid to kill all humans.
(Apollo and Red Eye stare each other down, Red Eye sees Apollo's laser.)
Red Eye: (electronic) Uh oh!
Apollo (to Red Eye): My name's Apollo. I don't suppose you'd like a drink?
Red Eye: I do not ingest consumables.
Apollo: In this case, you're not missing much.
