While Adama and Coker wait for rescue to get them back to Galactica, Dr. Kelly is killed by a part human Cylon who tells her that her betrayal of humanity does not change the Cylons' implacable hatred of all humans. Back on Galactica, Adama learns that the mission was not a failure at all- Kelly was given false information so that the Colonials could attack unprotected Cylon bases while they were attempting to catch the ghost fleet in their territory. Adama is disappointed by being used, but signs off on a falsified account of the mission to help promote the war effort with Colonial civilians. Adama is given his own Viper, which Coker had "Husker" painted on it as his official call sign. Adama and his fellow Viper pilots get ready to continue the fight.moreless
Coker argues with Dr. Kelly about going after the wounded Sgt. Toth, with Adama and Kelly agreeing that her mission takes priority. He insists on finally being told exactly what her mission is, and she says she plans to upload a virus to the Cylons' communication array. The three head out and Kelly begins her upload, but Coker becomes suspicious when he sees a battlestar on the screen, believing she is giving the enemy information on the fleet. He shoots Kelly and disarms Adama, but Kelly turns the tables on him and wounds him badly. Kelly then tells Adama she's doing it for the good of humanity, to stop the war. Adama realizes that Coker was right about Kelly, and destroys the array, then drags off Coker, leaving Kelly behind.moreless
Adama and Coker search frantically for Dr. Kelly, who ran off when the Cylons attacked. Toth is wounded badly, and is left behind. Dr. Kelly finds the Cylon experiment room, and is confronted by a Centurion, who scans her and identifies her as a friend, rather than a foe. Adama and Coker discover her and shoot the Centurion. The three than leave to look for their missing comrade.moreless
Toth leads Adama and his companions to the abandoned resort, where the Cylons had been working on their experiments. Adama and Dr. Kelly grow closer, and Kelly confides that her husband wasn't the war hero he was reputed to be. After the two make love, the compound is attacked by Cylons.moreless
The crew of the Wild Weasel leave the vessel and follow Dr. Kelly through the planet's blizzard conditions to a cave filled with dead men with mysterious wounds. The cave collapses, and they are attacked by a giant snakelike creature, who bites Coker. Out of nowhere, a Colonial soldier appears and kills the snake. He says his name is Tech Sgt. Xander Toth, and he is the only survivor of the unit who were there to spy on the Cylon's attempts to create half animal, half machine creatures like the snake that had attacked them. Toth then leads them to an abandoned resort compound, which is the site of Dr. Kelly's objective.moreless
The Osiris and the Cylon basestar begin firing as the Wild Weasel flies towards the planet Djerba, Dr. Kelly's objective. The battles goes badly for the Osiris, so Commander Ozar orders her ship to ram the basestar, destroying them both. The Wild Weasel manages to escpe, but crash lands onto the frozen surface of Djerba.moreless
The commander of the missing battlestar Osiris gathers her forces to strike deeper into Cylon territory to bring Dr. Kelly to her objective, which she claims will be their greatest chance to win the war. Kelly asks Adama and Coker to continue escorting her in the Wild Weasel, which displeases Coker, who fears this will be a suicide mission. Coker runs into an old friend on the Osiris, and they reminisce. But soon they are ready to make the jump to their target, and when they arrive they find a Cylon basestar waiting for them.moreless
Adama narrowly saves the crew of the Wild Weasel from the Cylon raider, but Dr. Kelly insists they break radio silence to get the next set of coordinates. When they get there, they discover numerous Colonial vessels thought to have been destroyed by the Cylons parked in Cylon territory.
William Adama prepares for his first mission with Lieutenant Coker Fasjovik, but all is not what it seems when their cargo turns out to be the female software engineer who helped design the Cylons.
