Preliminary summary: Adama wants to use Cylon technology to help the fleet find a new permanent home but not everyone agrees with him.

I'll add the poll later on, after the episode has actually aired.

I know it's a long way but Kobol was survivable. Not sure how rare habitable planets are in the BSG universe.

Obviously there are some. They came across a couple on their trip. New Caprica, the temple of the 5. Adama asked Guatta to look for the nearest class of stars so their must be something to finding livable planets around a certain class of stars. Their only limitation is their supply of food and tillium (which the latter appears to become an issue in this episode)

Kobol is a LONG LONG way away now. It's take huge amounts of fuel to get back to there and on top of that, it's a cursed planet. (Not sure what that means) but I think there will be sufficient turnmoil among the fleet to prevent suggesting a return to there.

This looks like its going to be a great episode. Zarek (presumably with the Quarum (sp?)) against Roslin and the military. Zarek will have the hearts/minds of most of the people (Roslin wasted so much to lead them to a nuclear wasteland and is now working with the enemies of mankind), Roslin will have the might of the military who will follow her no matter what. The only hope humanity has is if Roslin and Zarek can come to some sort of agreement. Yeah sounds like a great episode to me.

Don't think it has aired elsewhere. US is Friday, there time. UK is 27th and canada, I don't know but soon after US.

Also, here's synopsis from elsewhere with more detailsd

"Tigh and Number Six take their first glimpse at their unborn child, Tyrol offers Adama Cylon technology in return for his fellow Cylons properly reintegrated into the fleet, and an attempted coup leads to a costly struggle to maintain civility"

I had thought that some sort of civil war would erupt, but given the nature of the fleet that would seem to be somewhat impractical. A coup would suit my thinking as to where they are going with Gaeta's storyline though. I suspect that Zarek knows about the eight and tries to use that information to get Gaeta to turn assassin for him.

Okay I have missed something. What about the eight and why with this information get Gaeta to turn? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

Well its pretty clear that Gaeta is pissed about what has happened to him since new caprica, and is not willing to admit that some came from his choices
he seems to be blaming everyone but himself espically those that where cylons but not cylons at the time.

Zarrack is indeed up to his old tricks again but he has done something along those lines at least once a season in some way
It seems that everyone has alot of issues and the fact that earth is a dead world has made them worse.

I suspect that this epsiode is really setting up events to come, and alot of what happened in it will be the catalyst for them.

You may have missed the storyline "Face of the Enemy" which takes between "Notion" and this. That explains a lot about Felix and his actions.

I liked it. I suspect it was a lot of build-up to what seems like a coup next week, but it was good. I didn't expect the twist with Hotdog. He always seemed so calm and unfazed, and now he's....a daddy. Weird.

The scenes with Tigh and Six were more than a bit disturbing, with the whole 'it's the future of the Cylon race, isn't it wonderful' stuff. Gaeta is certainly harbouring a LOT of resentment. Kara and him bounced off each other very well, I loved their conversation. Poor Starbuck doesn't seem to be adjusting to the whole burned corpse thing. Can't blame her.

And oh, the scenes with Roslin were heartbreaking. I am so glad to see her in a better mood than last week, and it was surprising to see her running in a hoodie, of all things. I want her to take her medication, but at the same time it was so wonderful to see her happy. (As my icon indicates, I am something of a Roslin groupie. I can't help myself) The scene at the end was very tasteful. Four and a half seasons...definitely about time.

Well that was kind of disappointing...I wouldn't necessary qualify this as a bad episode or anything, but I personally can't stand Zarek and Geata. Everytime they speak it just angers me. They just sit there on their high horse and judge everyone else without having all the facts, and the whole time they're giving self righteous speeches they never offer an alternative solution on how to make things better. It's just "Lets Rebel cause I don't like cylons!". What's the point, in the end they'll just get shut down (with a few casualties on the way cause it's the last season) and that's that. At least give me something to sympathize with.

Then there's "Tyrol...you are NOT the father". I mean at least if they had taken the time to explore the possibility of Nikki being a hybrid and what that would mean, I might have actually cared. But to float it out there, completely ignore it and then take it back? It just seems lazy, since they didn't pick Tyrol as one of the final five until after Nikki was born, this was just the easiest solution.

I might post again to talk about the things I liked about the episode, but I'm gonna need to watch the episode again to find them.

Good episode love the civil war/ mutiny plot path and the build up was perfect. Gaeta turning into the lion that causes all this is great and I'm hoping as they burn off characters he'll die defending his beliefs and old Zarek can just die imo. Rosalyns life before death was handled greatly since I'm sure she won't make it till the end her journey has been made very interesting and fun to watch. Tyrol and his baby drama once again handled well in cooperation with the birth father to take of the kid so glad he didn't just drop him high and dry and even some Balthar prophet nonsense this episode had it all good job.

Well this was a fun episode like I thought it was going to be. Am I the only one that is starting to find Tigh and Six moderately cute together? But the Tyrol thing sort of came out of no where and now the poor guy has nothing at all... poor him. What this episode realy did was set up the events that are going to unfold in the next episode which looks like its going to be a very very good episode.

This was a good episode but not a blockbuster like the previous episode. Zarek had been quiet for too long. He had to start stirring up the waters at some point. I don't mind Gaeta's moralizing so much. Not that I always agree with him but at least he's consistent and believable as a character. I can imagine that he would still be incredibly ticked off about the Circle and the trial he went through. I think about the real example of the famous Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoevsky, who was a young Socialist in 19th-century Tsarist Russia. He was caught and sentenced to be executed. As he was standing in a row with other prisoners before the firing squad, the death sentence was commuted. One of the prisoners apparently went permanently insane from the stress. Dostoevsky was kind of mad himself too for the remainder of his life. He eventually turned into a very religious, conservative philosopher after his experiences in Siberia. It shows that you just don't forget a situation like that, facing imminent execution like Gaeta did. Some people might forgive their tormentors but no one in that situation will forget.

The Tyrol story was a little strange to be thrown in as a secondary plot. Nicky has always been an inconvenient element of the mythology. There was such a big deal made about Hera's birth as a human-Cylon hybrid. Then when we found out about Tyrol, it seemed that Hera wasn't so special anymore. Now we are back to just one human-Cylon child, and now maybe the first Cylon-Cylon child with Caprica Six and Tigh. I don't know how special Hera is anymore since Earth did not turn out to be the Promised Land. But maybe she will be the future Eve as many have speculated. And instead of Nicky being the future Adam, maybe it will be the child of Caprica Six and Tigh. Did they say whether their child will be a boy or not?

Baltar finally had some screen time, but still not much. There's a lot of explaining to do from the writers. Is the Cylon God real? What about Head Six? We didn't see her in this episode. I'm sure she'll make a return soon as Baltar continues to stir up his followers against his now "unworthy" God.

There was a lot going on in this episode but it almost seemed like more of a set-up for the following episode. I'm looking forward to see what trouble Gaeta and Zarek get into. I really thought Zarek was going to die in this episode. But without him in the picture, a lot of the political intrigue on the show would fade away. Maybe he'll be around until shortly before the series finale.
