I think my favorite part was Rosalyn's confrontation with Baltar in his cell. She's laid her cards on the table and spoke pretty plainly about how she felt things were going to go.

One shoe left to drop is The anger Zarek must feel at Lee for broadcasting him as an internal source of confidential information in the previous episode. Tom's probably going to be even more sidelined than ever now.

To me this felt like a clean-up episode. Dealing with the tragedies from the past several. Cally died, how does that play with Terrel who's already pretty unstable. Tigh understands he's a Cylon, was he actually there with the Six to confess what he was and seek some guidance? I think his vision of his wife interfered with that. As if Baltar isn't hated enough, he's a free man fomenting a religion the rest of the fleet considers a wacko movement. The relationship between William Adama and President Rosalyn.

All storylines well written, well performed, and necessary, but they all felt like "B" plot-lines to Kara's adventure and the deterioration of things on the Cylon home-front. I guess we'll have to wait till next week to pick up on that.

When Baltar was being held up by his head-six though, the area around his armpits and where they meet the chest were noticeably cinched in. It's looking like Six is either a physical manifestation, or Baltar's an excellent illusionist.

It looks like next episode is focusing more on the Demitrius, which is good because Anders' character is in desperate need for some development. I hope Michael Trucco has the acting chops to pull it off. The presence of Boomer on that ship will be significant, it seems.

That's Athena on the Demetrius, not Boomer.

You're right of course, thanks for the correction.

There is indeed a lot going on this season, but I think possibly the most significant is the looming Cylon civil war. On board the Base Stars, the ante keeps getting upped -- from simple out-voting to the Sixes unleashing the Centurions, to open firefight between Base Stars carrying rival factions. This kind of thing has *never* happened before, and calls into question the very nature of what it means to be a Cylon.

This larger division is echoed in the strained relations among the three of the Final Five on board Galactica. Tigh is adamant about deciding to be human, the man that he always perceived himself to be. It looks like Tory is embracing her Cylonhood. And both of them are trying to persuade Tyrol of their point of view, and he's smack dab in the middle and it's tearing him apart. Having Calllie killed certainly isn't helping him. Tyrol is in fact a microcosm of the entire Cylon race at this point -- conflicted, divided, becoming more irrational and therefore dangerous.

And then poor Sam is out there all by himself on Demetrius. We haven't yet seen much of what's going on in HIS head, but I trust we will sooon.

It seems that we may be getting some split episodes for a while now. There's so much going on that there is no possible way to cram every plotline into every episode, so it'll probably be split with Cylons/Demetrius/final 5 and fleet/final 5/Baltar kind of thing, until some storylines get sorted out and they can all fit into each episode.

You can read through the "Battlestar Galactica In Just Ten Minutes" series overview that I wrote up on this forum. It contains summaries and overviews of the first 3 seasons in a convenient format. I have to warn you that it includes significant spoilers from all previous seasons, but if that's what you are looking for and you don't have the time to watch all of the previous seasons, and you want to watch the new episodes live, then it could be useful.

That overview thread is not quite complete but it should answer a lot of basic questions you have about the past 3 seasons.

According to Ronald Moore's blog, SciFi.com is experiencing server issues. That is the reason for the delay in posting the official BSG podcast commentaries. He doesn't know when the problem will be fixed so all we can do is just be patient.

I was sure surprised that Racetrack and Skull (was that what they called him?) got out of that crash without a scratch. When the Raptor was tumbling around the landing bay it looked to me like the whole cockpit section was torn away.

I re-watched the crash scene in slow motion. After the front of the raptor is torn off and the rest starts sliding and spinning across the hanger, two bodies in space suits are seen being thrown out of the raptor before it hits the truck thing. It is only visible for a few frames and hard to notice without frame advance or pausing at the right moment.

That might explain how they got out, but not how they were so un-injured.

The episode was a good one. The show is definitely suffering from cram-itis at this point. There are so many plot points that have to be covered and stories to be resolved, they are jamming things into each hour. They are doing a good job with it but the eps aren't as deep as past ones. The only thing I didn't like was Baltaar's sermon. It was completely New Age and sounded just like the religion that Oprah is starting on her website mixed with The Secret. I wish they would have just fabricated a "religion" for Baltar to create rather than just go New Age with it. But overall, every entertaining. I was really waiting for Adama to punch chief in his fat gut though.

ITA.Roslin is one of the biggest hypocrites on the show and it's one of the reasons why i can't stand her.The poor quorum members if you think about it, they had to deal with roslin who is a religous fanatic,Adama who is a military fanatic, baltar who is a cylon fanatic and a religous fanatic as well, and zarek who is an insurgency fanatic. Then lee comes-Mr. Impartiality to all the fanatics. If i were a quorum member, i would be siding with lee alot. He's the only one in power who hasn't caused some kind of major disaster for the fleet because of how much control they wanted over the fleet because they didn't want anyone going up against what they believed in.If you watched the scene where roslin proposed disbaning the freedome of assembley for baltar's religion the quorum members had this look on their faces that clearly stated-Oh no, here she goes again.Roslin has been authorizing too many items that would give her the power to control people who are against her that when she's finally trying to get something across that might be right, the quorum members don't trust her.

Thank you!! FInally someone agrees with me. I really have my suspicions about Roslin. I love her though. She might be a skin job, but i love her. The scenes with her and Adama are cute, almost high school like.

Tory, Tory, Tory...my my she has totally changed and let the cylon thing go to her head. She it nuts for sure, great!

Chief: I really think the chief has snapped and now we will see how the 4 cylons will really come into their own. To see the chief as a mad angry, bitter man is a great heel turn for him,

Lee: ugh, I am really starting to hate Lee. He just doesnt get it. His idealism will get them all killed if he was in power.

Baltar: he was lifted up and not just a hallucination. We were seeing from the outside and not in Baltars head. I really want to know what or who is in his head. Is it God??

Saul: Well, it was interesting to see him and 6. I think they would make an awesome couple. I just dont understand what he wants from her.

The whole episode kinda bored me, but the ending was great. A boring BSG episode is worth 10 times more than anything on TV so I'm pleased!

I don't see Roslin as the final cylon. What would be the point of her being a cylon, if her right hand (Tory) is. It seems that both her and Adama would be a bit too high profile to be a cylon. People would notice if they started acting too weird. I think the way her character is going is actually logical based on what we've seen of her character before. And added to that, the part where they jumped into the nebula and she suddenly feels weird, that seem like way to much of a red herring, made to send people off on the "Laura is a cylon" path. Plus she's already got enough plotlines; she doesn't need another one. She has all the political stuff, Adama, Hera, her cancer.

I was pretty disappointed and bored with this episode. I love the show, but giving an episode of a lot of the same old, same old...sort of disappointed me. It seemed like a filler episode so that they could slow down the plot development of finding earth, last cylon, cylon civil war, etc.

Good epi. though a bit slow..

Really showed Baltar coming into his own as a religious leader.

    Roslin slipping away into tyranny.

Final five struggling (..still) with their identity.

6 being utterly brilliant as always.

    Kara lost.

And unfortunately no cylon civil-war (at all..), did any (and who?) of the "cylon rebels" survive the attack by cavil and boomer? I WANNA KNOW!! Guess they couldn't fit the storyline into this episode, which tells me it's going to be a "big can of worms" Can't wait!!

    Again no PODCAST??!??

Whatever... This episode was so much fun. They just keep adding layers of flavor and texture. I guess they were trying to make up for all the Baltar fans for last week.

I like where they seem to be going with Lee and his collision course with Roslin.

I like what they're doing with Tory. I realize long ago that Ms. Sharma was a Beautiful woman, but this season her character is down right SEXY... DAMN!

I don't know where they're going with Chief (oops) Specialist Tyrol, I'm struggling to understand what that is all about.

Whats going on with Tigh and Caprica?

Wow, instead of wrapping up plotlines they've opened new possibilities. Cool

    They're finally up!!!

I really don't think Rosalyn is the final Cylon. Here's why.

A few episodes back when she had her shared vision with Sharon and the Six, both she and Sharon were chasing after Hera only to see her get picked up by the six and Baltar and taken into the room where the final five are. We've seen the white sheets leading up to all of the glowing final 5 several times.

She can't be outside and inside that room at the same time.
