I think its StarBuck because i believe it was eithier her or President Roslin who i think is seeing the Visions because she has some of Hera's blood (Sharons Child) i don't know if thats right its just a therory i had.

I'm sure this has been mentioned in several other threads, but RDM has already said it's not going to be President Roslin or Admiral Adama, because it would take away too much from the show. From what we can tell as 'characteristics' of the final five: 1. They hate Baltar, and 2. They have supporting roles (respectively to Adama, Roslin, Galactica, and Starbuck)

It definitely isn't Gaius Baltar. In the last episode of season 2; "Lay down your burdens - Part 2" he had sex with the six on cloud 9 before she decided to blow it up. They specifically showed Gaius's back during the sex scene.

His spine wasn't glowing. Unless they're going to weasel their way out of it by saying "Cylon males don't have glowing spines" which I think would be beneath these writers, I'd think it's safe to say that was a *really* big clue

Im hoping to be wrong about this.

I personnaly beleive that each colony represents a cylon model, what's funny is that i think its allmost a giveaway with Caprica 6.

12 Colonies 12 Cylon models. In fact if you rearange Colony you get Cyloon.

Im pretty sure that in the end there will be 13 Cylons, and the one that represents earth will be the real shocker to end the series.

Atm we are at 11 and are looking to figure out who the twelth is. I originally thought that it was Kara, because otherwise how else would she be alive? Then i realised that it cant be her since she was from Caprica, how she survived is beyond my wits. Im sure however that something clever will be thought up.

The last Cylon cant be Baltar, why? It's obvious. When 3 the cylon looked onto the faces of the last 5 she saw only 1 person she recognised. And there was 1 person who's a known cylon that she had aquainted allready: Starbucks husband Sam. Therefor we can beleive at least that 3 does not know the 5th cylon which makes Baltar an unlikely choice.

THAT! is a great observation! (This is additional information that should be placed in the Cylon Register) Now let's see if we can fill in the blanks. I only know of 2 cylons who's colonies we're sure of

Sharon - Troy - Not exactly a name from the zodiac. Perhaps a neighboring world.

Aaron Doral - claims to be from Oasis, outside Caprica City, and having been on Kobol College on Gemenon

We need to fill in the rest

6 - If Doral was from Caprica, then the 6 shouldn't be according to this theory. Perhaps she only was visiting when she found Baltar.

Simon - I'm pretty certain his origin has'nt been discussed yet

Brother Cavil - Same with him

Leoben Conoy - Perhaps it was mentioned either on Ragnor station or when he was being interrogated by Starbuck.

D'anna Biers - Don't think she's said where she's from yet. If it was anywhere, it may have been when she was playing the reporter.

Tyrol - I bet he said where he's from in "The eye of Jupiter" or when they discovered that cathedral.

Tigh - Perhaps it was mentioned in his flashbacks to when he saw Adama who said he had a commission for a military ship

Tory Foster - Tough one. Not sure if her point of origin was mentioned

Anders - Caprica buccaneers. Was he a transplant? I don't think his point of origin has been discussed yet.

It's going to be tough nailing them down as most we've seen didn't have their identities as a cylon hidden from them and thus given a back-story, but in the case of Doral, he had a cover-story when he was being escorted into the chambers of the Ragnor station.

Though a brilliant observation, Ron Moore has stated "if you look at them they each represent different archetypes of what humanity is." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_%28Battlestar_Galactica%29)

Here's another candidate not mentioned yet.

    Doc Cottle.

He seems to be a witness to man's inhumatity to man on quite a few situations.

Be hell to pay if he were to sit in judgement of mankind.

I think it just might be Commander Adama. Just because, there was that whole episode where he was thinking about his wife and having proper conversaton with her. And Caprica six said something about cylons being able to see what they want to see, their own reality. It seems a lot like what she was doing with Baltar. Hey wasn't it wierd when Tyrol was having a conversation with Brother Cavil, and he convinced him, he wasn't a Cylon........

Cottle isn't a significant enough figure. He hasn't really been involved in the center of many stories other than the switch of Hera with the dead baby. Even in the two-part story involving the virus on the probe, he wasn't central to the plot. Not in the way Helo was.

Cottle would be a very underwhelming choice.

    I'm going with
    - Commonalities with the other four "Final Fives"
    - Symbolism / Character archetype
    - Clues left behind

I can't be bothered to dig up my own posts from similar threads, so off the top of my head:

    Felix Gaeta
    - Hatred of Baltar, active in the NC Resistance ~Same asTigh, Tyrol, Anders
    - Driven beyond reason to be stationed on Galactica
    - Supporting role with respect to a VIP (Adama/Baltar) ~ Similar to Tigh-Adama, Tyrol-Galactica, Tory-Roslyn, Anders-Starbuck
    - Has AFAIK always said Sharon/her instead of Cylon/it
    - Bottled-up Crazy

    Doc Cottle (yes, underwhelming)
    - Supporting role with respect to a VIP (Galactica)
    - Smokes the way Tigh drinks
    - Forgot how the archetype discussion went on this one..
    - Bottled-up Crazy

Starbuck (in a sense even more underwhelming)
    - Likeness to Xena's sketch of the Five ~ You can sort of match up the known four, the last one looks like Starbuck with long hair.
    - Turbulent personal life
    - Bottled-up Crazy

    Other
    - Must Not Be Underwhelming

    Mr BO

Also from BSG wiki: - Leoben Conoy's Colony/Planet is unknown - Galen Tyrol is from Gemenon - Samuel Anders is from Caprica (perhaps inferred?) - Saul Tigh is from Aerelon - Tory Foster is from Caprica ("likely")

While I think that both Roslin and Starbuck are possibilities, I think that making either Adama or Baltar Cylons take too much away from the story. I also hope that last one is female to even out the male/female ratio. Other candidates should include:

Anastasia Dualla. Anastasia means "Resurrection" in Greek, and Dualla is similar to Dual, as in dual nature, and also similar to the word for "12" in some languages. Dee was attached to Lee in the same way that Sam was attached to Kara. She also participated in the attempt to rig the election for Roslin along with Tory and Tigh. in 33 her mistake "lost" the Olympic Carrier, the one ship that was being tracked at the begining of the series. Without that accident, the whole fleet might have been worn down and destroyed. She also made the speech to Adama in Home I that convinced him to reunite the fleet.

Helena Cain. A strong female leader figure, similar to Roslin, but without the niceness. How did Pegasus alone among all the Colonial ships manage to survive? And find Galactica? Her reappearance for the Pegasus movie suggests that she could be back for more. Also, of the four known FFers, Tigh & Tyrol came from Galactica, Tory from the civilian fleet, and Anders from the Caprica Resistance... It would be nice for the last to come from Pegasus just to balance it all out.

Ellen Tigh. How did she get on the last ship out of Picon? That question was never answered. And Cylons do appear to be attracted to other Cylons. And after all Tigh's misery, isn't it about time he caught a break?

I think these three, plus Roslin and Starbuck are the best candidates. (Although, bringing back Billy would also be interesting.) From what I've read, I honestly don't think that the writers have made up their minds yet.

Well now that I have the first season box set, I'm going through the show again. Just finished the miniseries and I'm starting to lean a lot more to Felix.

He had the perfect opportunity to install that Cylon device on the dradis and he's a master at plotting jumps (Something the Cylons are really good at)

Kara can't be it cuz in S2 the cylons examined her and tried toconvince her to pop out hybrids... Neither could Anders cuz in S2 when building collapsed on him the Biers Cylon said he was human.

I just ended S2 so I only know that Doral, Sharon, D'Anna, Six, Simon, the (sort of) priest and Leoben are cylons. So if something I said didn't make sense, blame it on the fact that I haven't seen S3 yet!

A lot more was revealed in the final episodes of S3. I might be careful reading this thread since there are likely to be spoilers from S3.

(I added a spoiler warning to the title of the thread.)

I also just re-watched the mini-series and seasons 1 & 2. I'm starting to learn more toward Felix as the final cylon. He's big into the decession making on Galactica.

Just a thought and I'm sure it's probably been suggested already, but maybe NONE of the final 5 have actually been revealed yet - ormaybe up to3/4 of the 'revelations' aren't what they seem.

The series 3 finale was just speculation in my eyes, there wasn't anything conclusive about it. When the4 'alleged'Cylons met up,they were merely questioning if they were or were not Cylons.Tyrol was the only one to say he thought they were Cylons, they other 3 all refused to believe it, especially Tigh and Anders.

The music they allheard and follow to meet up could have been implanted by the Cylonswhen they wereon New Caprica (they were all there over a year) to make them do exactly what they have done - question their humanity and possibly side with the Cylons.

It might just bepart of a back-upplanby theCylons, put in place 'just in case' they escaped from New Caprica - or indeed maybe the Cylons'let' them escape to put the plan in motion.

May be it's someone they meet when they reach there destination. I don't think it's anyone listed in this poll. These names sounds so obvious.
