In case you haven't noticed, the Sci Fi site has a new video blog installment featuring Jamie Bamber. He takes us through the process of transforming him from Apollo to Fat Apollo. (Sorry if anyone is offended by that but that is how Sci Fi describes the video.) It's interesting to see the makeup artists at work. It's also another chance to hear Jamie speak in his native British accent. Always a little jarring to hear.

I've envisioned a scene for next season.  It goes like this:
Lee and Adama finally decide to return to New Caprica.  Adama looks at Lee and says, "We'd better get ready."  Lee nods, and the two of them head off in separate directions.  An '80s-style montage ensues, as shots of Lee getting back into shape (running, doing sit-ups while Dualla holds his feet, working over a punching bag) are intercut with Adama standing in front of the mirror shaving off his moustache while some rockin' getting-pumped-up music plays.  When Adama finishes he towels off and meets up with an exhausted, yet buff, Lee, and they take their ships into battle once more.

What do you think?  I feel like the scene is worth three, maybe four Emmys all by itself:  Best Actor - Edward James Olmos, Best Supporting Actor - the moustache, Best Writing - me, Best Directing - whoever.

It has to be the theme from Rocky and nothing else. Then it would be perfect!

Don't make me post another photo. I already revealed the secret picture of the Fonz at his post in the CIC.

I say we just keep him as "Fat Apollo" and show a montage of him sitting in the mess while he stuffs his face with random sugary treats.

Yes!!! and have some guy run ahead of him and grease the doorways. We could turn BSG into a comedy no problem.

I always remembered Hugh being british from his small appearance of friends. I have to think that the largest change I've ever seen in accents has to go to Lucy Lawless, from her native New Zealand accent to the very american accent she used on Xena. It was creepy watching interviews back then with her...

Ok, not quite Rocky but Rocky-themed:

For those of you unfamiliar with the Rocky movies, this is actually a photo of Apollo Creed vs. Lee "Apollo" Adama. Yes, it's Apollo vs. Apollo.
