In a couple of months I'm gonna start watching "Battlestar Galactica", i was wondering if this is the right order:

    - Miniseries (2003)

    - Season 1-3 (2004 - 2007)

    - Razor (2007)

    - Season 4 ( 2008 )

    - The Plan (2009)

Is this OK, is there something missing?

    Let me now.

You got it. Just be aware that Razor takes place near the end of the second season, directly after "The Captain's Hand". But it's probably best to watch it after the third.

Absolutely! Although I watched Razor after I finished the series because I was so obsessed with finishing the series right away. Hope you love BSG, it's an amazing "work of art".

Should I watch the 1978 original series too?

Watching the original series is totally optional. The "re-imaged" BSG is a completely new series. Although it's very interesting to see how much TV has changed from the 70's to now.

Shouldn't Caprica be around there too?

I have watch in this order so far:

    - Miniseries - Season 1

    - Season 2.0

    - Season 2.5

    - Season 3

    - Razor - Season 4.0

Now I still yet to watch Season 4.5, The Plan, and Caprica, I wonder in which order I should watch those. I hate to be spoiled, so it would be great if I watch in a sequence that would spoiled me the list, or no spoilers at all. Thank you.

Watch them in that exact order: 4.5, The Plan, then finally Caprica.

I've only watched the first season, but I believe that Caprica is a brand new series that requires no prior knowledge of BSG.

And if the first poster is buying DVDs, he should know that the miniseries is included on the first season DVD set. There is no reason to purchase the miniseries separately.

I started watching it last week, I reached the 6th episode of Season 1, and I already love both the seriesand specially the"Starbuck" character.

P.S.: Who's brilliant idea was to show scenes from the episode after the opening credits?

I have to look away every time to avoid spoilers.

The scenes of the episode embedded into title sequence was an homage to Mission Impossible. Some like it, others felt it spoiled the episodes. In fact, they did away with it for a few episodes (in season 2 I think) then went back to doing them again.

They never bothered me much. Instead they whetted my appetite for what's to come.

Many times, knowing the outcome isn't the point of the show but the journey getting there.

they did that with loads of tv shows from the 70's & 80's. the A team did it for example. but also the original bsg did it & i think it was a homage to that. i didn't like it either, i'd either close my eyes or turn away till the end of the drum part. that was my main complaint about bsg, which makes me quite lucky, cos the rest of it is awesome.
