    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (4)

      • One of the Clan Wolf Elementals refers to another as "Lieutenant." The Clans do not have a rank called "Lieutenant;" the closest equivalent would be Star Commander.

      • Star Commander Natalya reports to Pytor that the signal from Camelot Command is a FedCom (Federated Commonwealth) one. However, when Camelot Command was in operation centuries ago, the Federated Commonwealth (a union of two Inner Sphere states) did not exist; the correct designation would have been Lyran Commonwealth instead (the name of the member state that Camelot Command was located in).

      • Another important part of Battletech history is messed up in this episode: the Star League Defense Force did not depart the Inner Sphere from Camelot Command, but from the New Samarkand system (which is in the "northeast" part of the Inner Sphere, whereas Camelot Command is in the "northwest").

      • The story about the formation of the Clans in this episode is completely wrong. Alexandr didn't form the Clans, his son Nicholas did over two decades AFTER they left the Inner Sphere.

Also, the two ports emitting light on the Axman are supposed to be missile tubes, not searchlights.

    • QUOTES (5)

      • (After Franklin returns Steiner's Axman to him)
Adam: And you think bringing back a battered toy makes going AWOL acceptable?! Dismissed! (Striding up to his Axman) Ok…maybe it's a little acceptable.

      • (After putting the two Clans at each other's throats)
        Patch: I'm a genius.
Natalya (from outside): Open up in the name of Clan Jade Falcon!
Patch: What do we do now?
        Franklin: YOU'RE the genius…

      • (Speaking to Ciro, a former comrade who's turned traitor and joined the Clans)
Val: Ciro, how are ya? You never write, you never call…

      • Val: "What did I tell ya, Kylie? Not only are these munitions gonna save my neck, they're also gonna make me…!
(Doors open, revealing an empty munitions bay)
        Val: …rich?

      • (pointing to a portrait of Alexander Kerensky, founder of the Clans, as the command center is rocked by explosions from attacking Clan forces)
Patch: This [The Clans] was your idea? I hope you're happy!

    • NOTES (1)

      • The voice command Franklin uses to bring the command center online ("Rosebud") is a reference to the movie "Citizen Kane." The camerawork at that point is another homage to the movie (with the camera showing only Franklin's mouth as the word is spoken, just like the opening scene of the movie).
