AIRED:
Tanner has received an E-mail from his cousin Damon. Damon is a racecar driver and he is coming to Los Angeles for a race called "Kragan Auto Parts 200". Mitch tells Damon that he used to race once. His parents gave him a trip to racing school in graduation gift when Mitch left college. When Damon meets Alex, they are attracted to each other. Damon places Tanner behind the wheel and asks him about Alex. Her favorite food and if she is seeing anyone right now and stuff like that. Later Damon stops by at Alex´s tower. He has brought some Chinese food which he now knows is her favorite food. When Damon goes for a swim, he loses consciousness. He is rushed to the hospital in a hurry. He recovers and it turns out that the fried rice he was eating contained shrimps. Damon is allergic to shrimps. But Damon isn´t 100 % healthy and is unable to race. Damon, Alex and Tanner convince Mitch to enter the race instead. If Mitch wins the race, $ 100 000 will be donated to Camp Baywatch. Mitch will face no 1 racer Mark Martin in the race. Mitch finishes second behind Martin. And $ 50 000 is donated to Camp Baywatch. The winner Mark Martin donates his prize money as well. After the race, Damon leaves. But Alex promises him to join him some day for one of his races. Later the famous artist Wyland arrives and he and the kids from Camp Baywatch paint a painting on one of the walls of headquarters. Meanwhile, April and J.D. are forced to rescue a man named Ervin who is about to commit suicide. Newmie´s brother-in-law who is a TV producer heard about it over the radio. Now he wants to make a TV-series about lifeguards called "Beachside". Mitch tells Newmie that it has already been done. A producer named Don Brand tried to make a series about lifeguards called "Rescue Bay" back in 1994 ( Episode #84: "Rescue Bay"). But Newmie reminds Mitch that "Rescue Bay" was sold to NBC, and "Beachside is going to be a syndicated show. Syndication is a completely different market. Newmie, April and Cody are making casting calls for the show. Newmie´s brother-in-law wants to make "Beachside" a TV-series, but then he is fired and decides to change careers. His replacement hates "Beachside" and says that it´s amateurish. Suddenly the whole project is dead.moreless
