Episode Summary

Appreciation Day
It's an ordinary day at the Big Blue House, but Bear decides to check his calendar, wondering if there's anything special coming. He checks his calendar and finds that tomorrow is Teacher Appreciation Day. Wondering if Tutter and the other mice at mouse school know, he decides to tell them before soccer practice. It turns out when he arrives that the mice were just in the middle of talking about how much they like Miss Maxwell. Bear decides to split them all into teams of two and partners Tutter with Lily to make Miss Maxwell a gift. Tutter's not too sure about the arrangment at first, worrying that the shy and quiet Lily won't be very good at helping him to make Miss Maxwell a gift. Bear, however, persuades Tutter to give Lily a chance and things start coming together nicely. They write a poem for Miss Maxwell. There's another special appreciation surprise later on. In the Shadow segment, Shadow retells Aesop's Fable 'The Lion and the Mouse'.moreless

  • QUOTES (9)

    • Bear: Tutter found out that sometimes if you look a little deeper, you can see a lot to appreciate in someone ya' might not have noticed at all.

    • Kids: Happy Bear Appreciation Day!
      Bear: Hey, what's this about?
Ojo: We want you to know how much we appreciate you, Bear!
Tutter: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, ya' big, old bear.

    • Lily: Thanks, Tutter. Nobody ever made me feel so good before.

    • ~ Miss Maxwell, Our Big Cheese ~

Lily: When it comes to smarts, there's nobody better. Our teacher Miss Maxwell is sharper than
      Lily and Tutter: Cheddar!
Lily: She's got a chuckle you never wanna miss and a smile as wide as a big, old wedge of
      Lily and Tutter: Swiss!
Lily: Miss Maxwell, Miss Maxwell, to us you're such a funster. We wouldn't trade you for a whole wheel of
      Lily and Tutter: Munster!
Lily: So this our way to say thank you, you see.
Lily and Tutter: We aprpeciate you more than a big hunk of Brie!

    • Tutter: I thought Lily was going to be all about shy, but she's really so much more.

    • Tutter: When I first found out that Lily and I were gonna make Miss Maxwell's gift, I-I didn't think she could do it. You know, she was so quiet. But, wow, she really came up with some great ideas, Bear. Ha ha. Yeah. I like her, Bear.

    • Bear: (singing) If you're feeling thankful / And ya' don't know what to say / Say the word that says it best / That's "appreciate."

    • Bear: Well, everybody, appreciation is when you're grateful for someone or something or something someone does. Like Miss Maxwell, who does so much for all of you.

    • Tutter: So then Miss Maxwell said that my cheese sculpture was so real, she almost wanted to eat it.
Moss: So did she eat it, Tut?
Tutter: No, Moss, but I almost did. Almost!
