  • A New Kind of Adventure

    7.0
I used to love this show as a kid and was always especially fond of the rough ties between group members which lead to a lot of backstabbing and side changes. Now what used to be amazing graphics more resembles what a child would create in a 3D modeling program but I resolve to not let this derail my viewing plans.
  • Maximals vs Predacons.

    8.8
The beginning of this was pretty cool. You see two ships shooting each other then they both got shot down to a mysterious planet. After that you get to see some talking animals who can transform into some warrior robot. When I saw the fight scene I thought it was pretty dumb that most of their shots couldn't even hit at least one target. But since the title is called "Beast Wars" I think there will be more adventure that involves a lot of action between these two groups.moreless
  • 2 groups called the Predacons and the Maximals fight out for energon in a strange planet they have landed on.

    9.1
I really like the character in this episode. First I like to start off Dinobot my favorite, his acting is good and his role playing is to fight as a warrior is tremedous. Optimus Primal is best playing for courage and being a leader. Rhinox is calm, patient, wise, and strong which adds a pretty good stats to the team. Cheetor happens to be my second best because Cheetor is hot headed and not only that he is fast, of course. Raptrap in the first episode causes the Maximals some problem but he has smarts. The Predacon, not much to say about but all them acting is golden especially Megatron. Megatron has all the quality of being smart, strong, cautious, and etc. First episode of the Beast Wars good start but I would have added more action between the Predacons and the Maximals.moreless
  • great series starter... but i feel they only got beter

    8.0
ok for the pilot episode it was kinda boring and nothing realy ahppend but that is understandable because they have to introduce the plot and all the characters. i personaly find it wierd that everytime there is a person about to die they somehow survive it thats the only thing i dont like about the series i mean more people could have died. i mean the maximals let our like 20 or so pods into the atmosphere which can easly keep the series going and stay realistic with casualties actualy happening when in warmoreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (5)

  • QUOTES (10)

    • DinoBot: Attention Maximals, my name is DinoBot. I have left the Predacons to join your group... as leader.
Cheetor: What? Did I hear the word 'leader?'
Rhinox: This guy's got bearings of chrome steel.

    • (While Optimus Primal and Rattrap are riding Rhinox)
      Rattrap: Heads up, Roadblock!
Optimus: Veer left, about a hundred meters.
(Rhinox smashes through rocks) Ah, yes, silly me.

    • Rattrap(After Cheetor runs off, ignoring Primal's command to stay): So, this your first day on the job?
      Optimus: Shut up, Rattrap.

    • Rattrap: We're all gonna die. (This is Rattrap's most used phrase.)

    • Optimus Primal: Well, that's just Prime. (This becomes Prime's favorite phrase as the series progresses.)

    • Rattrap: We were supposed to be doing deep space exploration; galactic patrolling was nowhere in my job description, you know what I'm saying?
Optimus Primal: You wanted exploration, and here we are on an unknown planet. What more do you want?
Rattrap: Well, call me picky, but a working spacecraft might be nice.
Optimus: Just no pleasing some people.

    • Cheetor: The way those two reacted, that's no natural life form. And if we're talking unnatural life forms, we're talking about just one thing! Robots in disguise! Cheetor, Maximize!

    • Megatron: (To Dinobot) There's more to being a leader than simple courage. Well, there's cleverness and cunning as well.

    • Optimus Primal: Damage report!
Cheetor: Believe me, you don't want to know.

    • Optimus Primal: Moderate your conflict circuits Maximals!

  • NOTES (5)

    • This is the only Megatron (to date) whose name was not changed to Galvatron.

    • In Beast Wars Season 1's extra - interview with writer Bob Forward - he confessed he didn't really know anything of the previous Transformers sagas. Primal's intial throw-away line about "The Great War" was meant to emphasize that there had been a war between the two forces in the past. It wasn't until later that the writers started reading the TF newsgroups and other sources that they started incorporating original TF storylines in later episodes, and the Great War become the conflict between Autobot and Decepticon.

    • Several of the figures in the toy line had an extra head, or "mutant head" as a gimmick. While initial animation models had these heads, the final animated versions lacked them, as the limitations of CGI technology made them cost prohibitive. However, at least two of the characters, Tarantulas and Waspinator, use the "mutant heads" as their heads in robot form.

    • Originally, Optimus Primal and Megatron were to have four forms, two beasts and two robots. In addition to the forms seen in the series, Optimus was also to have the form of a bat while Megatron was to have the form of a crocodile, their forms that were sold as a basic two-pack during the first run of the Beast Wars figures. However, the limits of CGI technology at the time meant that the characters were ultimately given the forms seen in the show.

    • The Maximal ship is called Axalon; the Predacons ship remains largely unnamed throughout the series (See Equal Measures for more info).

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • When the Maximals are heading to Cheetor's rescue, and when they leave the battle, Optimus is riding Rhinox, similar to how DK rides a rhino named Rambi in the game Donkey Kong Country.

    • Cheetor: "Robots in Disguise!"
This was the tagline to the original Transformers series
