  • Beginning of the End

    9.5
This was the beginning of the final two episodes of this fine series. Megatron raises the Decepticon ship "Nemesis" and vows to destroy the earth and everything on it so he can alter history. IT is also considered the prelude the the Beast Machines series. that would come a year later. It's pretty spiffy stuff and pretty exciting.
  • Prelude to Beast Machines Part 1

    10
Nemesis Part 1 was by far one of the best episodes I've ever witnessed. There were many confrontations as well as one unexpected revival of the Nemesis, a flagship of the ancient Decepticon warship that was created by Megatron. It also introduced to some info involving what is called The Covenant of Primus which explains about the conflict that was between the Autobots and the Decepticons many eons ago. There was also the conflict between Depthcharge and Rampage (Protoform X). Of course, it was a battle that was unbelievable and it led to one heck of a sacrifice. If you know what I'm trying to tell you, then you should watch Nemesis Part 1. You'll love it.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (6)

    • When Optimus says 'Depth Charge has paid the ultimate price', Depth Charge's 'fin' floats to the surface despite it being made of metal.

    • Optimus, Cheetor, Blackarachnia, and Tigerhawk are all shown leaving the base together, yet Optimus somehow pulls far ahead of the group to meet up with Depth Charge and Silverbolt in the next scene. If anything, Tigerhawk should have been able to keep up.

    • At one point, Cheetor is seen flying with Tigerhawk and Blackarachnia. However, Cheetor lost the ability to fly when when he became a Transmetal 2.

    • Depth Charge is the closest Maximal to the booby trap than Optimus or Silverbolt - yet it's Silverbolt who takes the most damage. Neither Depth Charge nor Optimus have so much as a scratch on them.

    • In one shot, Megatron's face is purple instead of grey.

    • When Optimus is reading the bible of Primus or whatever, in the background you can see a Transmetal Black Arachnia and Cheetor in his first transmetal form, carrying some kind of big box. However Cheetor turned into a 'Transmetal 2' in Feral Scream Part 2.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Final Words
Depth Charge: Raw energon! Right through your twisted spark! Take it! Take it straight to the Pit, you sickening piece of slag!

    • Depth Charge: I have no time for you now, X.
Rampage: Just like you had you had no time for Starbase Rugby? You had friends there, as I recall; tasty ones, too.

    • Waspinator: Waspinator sick of being evil! Sick of being Predacon! But most important, Waspinator sick and tired of being blown to scrap all the time!
Waspinator quits! As of now, which means Ant-bot and two head just can pucker up their mandibles and plant big wet juicy ones right here on Waspinator's big, fat, stripy...(Waspinator gets blown up by Quickstrike and Inferno)

    • Inferno: The Royalty Will triumph! All we need is a new colony-and I shall find it!
Waspinator: Ha! Ant-Bot not find own thorax with both hands and a road map.

    • Waspinator: Ohhh, Waspinator feel much damage coming on...

    • Silverbolt:(To Blackarachnia) It's just a scratch my love.
Optimus: Even so, I'd say you're in need of some serious CR time.
      Silverbolt: But Optimus...
Blackarachnia: Shut up and obey your commander!
      (Silverbolt's head falls off)
      Silverbolt: Yes, dear.

  • NOTES (4)

    • After nearly 3 full seasons, Waspinator turns his back on the Predacons- and gets blown away yet again for it.

    • Many fans had wondered where Tarantulas was during most of the third season, especially with his death in "Other Victories". "Nemesis" reveals that the spider had been very busy off-screen, i.e. repairing and refitting the Nemesis.

    • The Book of Primus is paraphrasing from the biblical book of Revelation. See Cultural References section.

    • Depth Charge and Rampage destroy one another in a final battle.

  • ALLUSIONS (3)

    • Megatron: Unicron's Spawn
Unicron was the giant transforming planet who first appeared in Transformers: The Movie. Unicron played a minor role in the post movie series, but his role in the comics was greatly enhanced, where he was the advasary of Primus, the creator of the Transformers in the comics. In both cases, only the Matrix could defeat Unicron once and for all - in the movie, it was the Matrix of Leadership, while the comics referred to it as the "Matrix of Creation".

Megatron's comment towards Tarantulas is thought by many fans to be the writers' way of explaining Tarantulas' origins, as the spider mentioned that he had "other origins". Just as many fans believe that the phrase "Unicron's Spawn" is merely a derogatary comment.

    • Rampage: Just like you had no time for Starbase Rugby?
During the final battle between Depth Charge and Rampage, Rampage mentions an incident at "Starbase Rugby". This was the writer's nod to one of the fan run online stores, Rugby's Starbase, which, during the series' run, sold a vast array of sci-fi items, including Transformers.

    • Optimus Primal: "And a mighty warrior came down from the sky. And a rainbow was upon his head. And his feet as pillars of fire. And the great dragon was cast out upto the Earth. And his followers were cast out with him."
The Book of Primus is basically paraphrasing from the Book of Revelation in the Bible. Revelation refers to Satan, whereas in this case, the "great dragon" is, rather obviously, Megatron.
