Erin Wasson, the spokesmodel for Maybelline New York, guest stars in this episode.
Karen becomes one of the last three finalists in a contest to become a model for Maybelline New York.
At the end of the episode, Lynn and her co-workers find out someone has been stealing money from their company.
Annabelle goes on a date with her teacher and thinks she might be a lesbian.
Karen: So, any advice for me?
Heather Montgomery: First don't trust anybody in this business and second do not, no matter what anyone says, do anything with that nose. Perfection is way overrated in this business. And that bump no will ever notice it. Good luck with the interview.
Karen: Mom, he's a club Aqua 9 guy.
Lynn: Pardon me?
Karen: Aqua 9, the club I keep talking about. He goes there.
Lynn: Oh, that Club Aqua 9. I haven't been there, but I hear it blows Aqua 8 out of the water.
Annabelle: ...I thought Ms. Newberg actually did ask me out on a date.
Sophie: And you went.
Annabelle: Yes, and then her girlfriend joined us and I said I was sick and I went home …
Sophie: So, you think you're gay.
Annabelle: I don't know what I am, I mean I felt comfortable around Ms. Newberg … and she's gay…
Sophie: Do you feel the same way about her that you felt about Gideon?
Annabelle: No, but look what happened with him, a big zero.
Sophie: So maybe you were just trying too hard.
Annabelle: Or maybe I'm gay.
Gideon: You're gay?
Annabelle: Gideon!
Gideon: Oh god, please don't tell me I turned you into a lesbian.
Chris' Sonnet:
The calculus of friendship is complex,
the variables too vast and wide to chart.
But no equation solving extracts
can change the mathematics of the heart.
At first I only saw you with my eyes,
a purge of fire that forged a gaze of steel
As if to my own self I could disguise the truths
that are too painful to reveal.
But you saw me with eyes that bore within
To places secret hidden from plain view.
And did not run nor judge where I had been
Accepting me the more the more you knew.
But in those eyes your secret I can tell
Is that you see so you'll be seen as well.
