The beauties and geeks continue with getting to know each other, but two couples are forced to meet more quickly than the rest when Chris and Amanda make their decision about which pair to switch themselves with - they ultimately decide to split up, with Chris pairing with Tristin and Amanda pairing with Brandon. Later, the men face a karaoke challenge, and the women are forced to muster up the courage to give a speech about a political topic that they know very little about.moreless
  • I MISS MY BRANDON BLANKENSHIP!!!!

All I so wish that Chris was the one voted off in this episode, although I was rooting for Tristin to stay because she was so sad to be switch over to Chris as a partner and I would have too. In the beginning of the last challenge they had to do, I so thought that they had it, and then the Destiny's Child question caught Brandon up, and I mean it was kind of a 3-part question, but you win some and you lose some. Unfortunately in this one, we lost Brandon and kept Chris. Not the best trade-off but hopefully I'll see some change in Chris in the rest of the show.moreless
  • Fun to see.

Chris and Amanda breaking up wasn't that big a deal. I don't like Chris, and Amanda is kind of forgetable, so no big deal.

The karaoke challenge was fun to see. Being on the geek side myself, I can't imagine doing that. Josh had a rocky start, but really got into it later on, so I felt he showed quite a bit of growth and I hope he gets to stay in so he can make a big change. Tyson also did good, and had the crowd really hyped, so I'm ok with him winning. He does seem to be the closest to not needing much more change (given that he was also on Twins, he's popular, but still geeky)

The girls challenge was ok. Not really exciting or anything, but it did show some growth on their parts. Cher, after not wanting to study with Josh, did surprisingly well. I also felt that Brittney did well. Sarah needs quite a bit of work to change, so I kind of hope she stays in as well.

The walk off was amusing. And Jennipher said something that shows some growth, so I'm starting to like her as well.

I'm ok with Brandon and Amanda being eliminated (even though I don't like Chris), because neither of them really stuck out in my head.moreless

    • Tyson wins the audiences' hearts in the karaoke bar, where he and the others perform "Hot Blooded," in the first task of the episode, granting he and partner Thais immunity and the power to nominate one couple for elimination.

    • Cheryl wins the second task, a political debate about topics such as pollution, social security, and global warming. The winner was decided by an audience vote. She and partner Josh are immune from elimination for the week.

    • Brandon & Amanda become the first couple sent home when they lose in the elimination room to Tristin & Chris.

    • The questions in the elimination room deal with Pop Music for the men and Politics for the women in this episode, just like season one's first elimination room contest.

    • Coincidentally, the four people who appear in the elimination room were the same contestants involved in the team-switch that occured at the beginning of the episode.

    • The T-shirt (one of many) that Chris wears in this episode says "I put the 'BAD' in 'BADMINTON."

  • QUOTES (8)

    ADD QUOTES
    • Mike Richards: What is the capital of Iraq? Amanda: Could you spell Iraq please? Mike Richards: I-R-A-Q. Amanda: I'm gonna go with Afghanistan. Mike Richards: I'm sorry. The correct answer was Baghdad.

    • Brittany: Joe rolled up his sleeves and it was definitely very eighties. We were going for an eighties theme, because the song is from the eighties. (a pop-up flashes on screen, reading "'Hot Blooded': released in 1978").

    • Tyson: I really hope that people don't identify me with William Hung, because William Hung is tone deaf, and I have perfect pitch.

    • Chris: (about Tristin) I thought that maybe she had a few blonde moments, but apparently her life is just one long blonde moment.

    • Josh: We're the only country who didn't sign this thing called the Kyoto Protocol. Cheryl: Like the Kyoto Dragon?

    • Amanda: I know that I probably would have strangled myself if I had stayed with Chris.

    • Brittany: I'm a senior in College right now, and I'm in an International Marketing class. Marketing might have something to do with politics. Maybe not, I don't know.

    • Tristin: I didn't know the White House had an address. Why does it need an address? It's the frickin' White House!
