After a three week absence from school, the principal's office calls 'the house' to learn the whereabouts of the boys...only to learn that they are dead. In the teachers' lounge at Highland High, Mr. Van Driessen wants to mourn Beavis and Butt-head by "celebrating their lives;" Principal McVicker wants to cash in on the tragedy by holding a fundraiser for the school; Buzzcut is just happy they're dead. Flashbacks a-plenty as the supporting cast recalls their fond memories of Beavis and Butt-head.Beavis and Butt-head haven't been attending school for three weeks and Mr. Van Driessen is concerned. Despite his reservations and unwillingness to deal with the two, Principal McVicker decides to have his secretary call their house and figure out why they haven't been in school. When we see Beavis and Butt-head for the first time it becomes clear why they haven't been in school- they've been watching TV for the last three weeks and can't seem to find anything good to watch. While flipping through the channels Beavis hears the phone ringing and Butt-head tells him to make it stop. Beavis answers to find Principal McVicker's secretary on the line, and when she asks where he and Butt-head have been Beavis responds with "Uh, heh, yeah they're dead." He then resumes his television watching with Butt-head, as they still can't find anything to watch.Van Driessen and McVicker receive the news from his secretary and react differently to the "tragedy"- Van Driessen is shocked and upset and tries to break the news to his gently, but McVicker- who had been tortured for years by Beavis and Butt-Head- is overjoyed and tells the entire school over the loudspeaker, then announces a party in the teachers' conference room to celebrate their demise.Van Driessen tries futilely to have somebody in relay any memories they may have of Beavis and Butt-head but the only one who is willing to talk is Daria- and, considering the relationship she had with the two of them, she doesn't speak too highly of Beavis or Butt-head as her story is told in flashbacks. Later, at the party, Van Driessen tries to remind everyone that they should have respect for the dead. However, he is angrily shouted down by Coach Buzzcut, who recounts his own disdainful memories of Beavis and Butt-head and remarks that he hopes they died slowly and painfully and that he would've killed them himself if he had the chance. An idea that Van Driessen has- to start a memorial collection in their names- is enthusiastically accepted by McVicker, but not for the reason Van Driessen had hoped. Van Driessen wanted to start a scholarship fund, but McVicker said that Beavis and Butt-head owed the school for all the damage they caused over the years.Meanwhile, back at home, Beavis and Butt-head finally find something good to watch on TV- a news report of their own death. However, they aren't aware that they are the ones being referred to as dead and eventually decide that they need to get up and go to school to see the dead bodies everyone is talking about. They come just in time to see Principal McVicker giving an interview to the local news station about the memorial fund in their names. McVicker BS's his way through the interview and ends by saying that he would gladly give up all the money in the glass jar he is holding just to see Beavis and Butt-head one more time. "Okay, McDicker, give us the money," Butt-head responds to the shock of the principal, and the two engage in a tug-of-war over the jar. While doing so he has his own series of horrible flashbacks of Beavis and Butt-head, which cause him to have a massive heart attack and collapse in front of the cameras. Everyone gathers around his body while Buzzcut tries to save McVicker, while Beavis and Butt-head walk away. The episode and series end with Beavis and Butt-head laughing over what happened to Principal McVicker and Beavis wondering whether or not they should go back to school the next day, in case someone else dies. As they walk into the sunset with the jar full of change, Butt-head remarks, "We're rich. We don't have to go to school again for the rest of our lives." Beavis replies, "Yep. That's pretty damn cool."

  • this was the last episode ever. i almost cried at the end credits when it said \" thanks for all the writers and producers for making beavis and butthead look so stupid\" i was glad to watch every episode. that was the best cartoon ever.moreless

i like the part where stewart flashes back to a time when beavis and butthead were all nice, (it never happened though) and the part where mr. van dreissen was all sad and principal mcvickor was all happy. it was still a great episode. i got it on tape, and i watch it over many times. i want to thank the people who made beavis and butthead who they are.
  • The last episode of Beavis and Butthead

    5.2
It might be one of the poorest series finale in the history of cartoons, or may I say of television. Beavis telling the lady that calls from school to ask for them, that they are both death so they can take the day off, leads to a boring remember of old episodes of Beavis and Butthead. Seems to me more like an average episode than a series finale. Bring them back so we do not remind this show, as the one with the lamest finalemoreless
  • The last episode of "Beavis and Butt-Head" ever made. Huh, huh, huh... Cool.

    10
Here is my review for the very last episode of Beavis and Butt-Head. It is also a "flashback episode" because it is has clips from past episodes of the show being played throughout the episode. Anyway, this episode opens up with Beavis and Butt-Head not being in school for three weeks, even though they weren't suspended or expelled. The school calls Beavis and Butt-Head, who have been spending the last few weeks eating nachos and watching TV, about why they aren't at school. Beavis responds by telling the school they are dead. And because of this, everyone at the school actually thought they were dead and everyone begins remembering all the stupid yet memorable stuff that Beavis and/or Butt-Head did over the years. The school then holds a ceremony in honor of Beavis and Butt-Head's "death". Beavis and Butt-Head see what's happening on TV and decide to check it out themselves. When Principal McVicker sees them again, he begins to remember all the stupid yet hilarious stuff that Beavis and Butt-Head did to everyone/themselves (the sequence is in the form of a montage of clips, which cracks me up nonstop because of all the funny clips from episodes such as "Home Improvement" and "Lawn And Garden") and has a massive heart attack. This episode has a good ending, and a special thanks from the show's creator Mike Judge (who also did the voices of Beavis and Butt-Head and other characters on the show). An original series finale.moreless
  • What a way to go out!

Wow, Mike Judgre totally outdone himself. the principal finds out that beavis and butt head died, so he throws this giant fund raiser to cash in on the tragedy, eventually, beavis and butt head watch the media coverage it was getting so they decided to check them out for themselves. This is were it gets funny because when the principal sees beavis and butt head he gets shoked and eventualy has a heart attack, then the PE teacher Gives him Mouth to Mouth. eventually beavis and butt head walk off with the fund raiser money. and the show... ends. during the show they showed flashback episodes some of them were funny but there were funnier ones that were left out. all in all this was a great show and a great episode.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Principal McVicker mentioning that the school needs a new teachers' lounge is a reference of what happened on the episode "Steamroller" and "Breakdown".

    • It was pointed out that during the flashbacks, the clip of Buzzcut from "No Laughing" is shown to contain him yelling "scrotum" and "clitoris" which did not appear in the episode. This is actually not a goof because in the original unedited version of the episode, Buzzcut uses these words, which were later removed from the subsequent airings as well as "The Final Judgment" video release.

  • QUOTES (17)

    • Butt-Head: (watching reruns on TV) Damn it, we've seen all this crap before!
Beavis: Yeah, this sucks! And those butt-wipes think we should actually sit here and watch the same crap over and over again?

    • Mr. Van Dressien: Now Beavis and Butt-Head were sometimes misunderstood in life... Must they also be misunderstood in death?
Coach Buzzcut: Ha ha! Those boys were no good, and nothing good was EVER gonna come out of them!
Mr. Van Dressien: (stands up) If your disrespect for the dead shows how you treat the living, then I'll thank you to keep your distance away from me.

    • (The following quote is the unedited clip from "No Laughing" used in this episode.)

Coach Buzzcut: So, Beavis and Butt-Head... I understand Mr. McVicker has made a little arrangement with you guys... Yeah, a little probation. You see, class, Beavis and Butt-Head here are not allowed to laugh for a whole week. That's right, and if they DO laugh, they'll be expelled and they'll have to go to Hope High School, where they'll get their asses kicked on a daily basis by all the other delinquents! Ha, ha, ha!
(The class begins to laugh as Beavis and Butt-Head bite their lips, trying not to laugh.)
Coach Buzzcut: Well, I was real glad to hear that, because this is Sex-Education Week. That's right; Sex-Ed Week! We're gonna be talking about the (looks at Butt-Head as he talks) PENIS! We will be talking about the VAGINA! Do you think that's funny, Butt-Head? Do you find it amusing that we'll be talking about the TESTICLES?! Yeah, we're also gonna be talking about VENEREAL DISEASE! SEXUAL INTERCOURSE! The SCROTUM! The CLITORUS! And... (grabs Butt-Head's hand) And we will definitely be spending a lot of time talking about the MASTURBATION!

    • Mr. Van Driessen: C'mon, people... Let's show some respect, m'kay?
Coach Buzzcut: (standing up) Respect?! Those boys never showed me ANY respect! It took every ounce of my self-control not to kill them!

    • (These are the final lines of the series as the boys walk off with the money collected in their names to the strings of love music and sirens.)
Butt-Head: Hey, Beavis. Did you see McDicker? He was, like, "Uh-uh-uh-uh...", and then Buzzcut made out with him.
Beavis: Yeah, that was cool. We should go to school early tomorrow, you know, in case someone else dies.
Butt-head: Dumbass, we're rich; we don't have to go to school ever again.
Beavis: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's pretty damn cool...
      Butt-Head: Yeah.

    • Principal McVicker: I would gladly give back all the money, just to see Beavis and Butt-Head one more time...
Butt-Head: Uh... Okay, McDicker. Now give us some money.
      (Everyone gasps in horror.)
      Principal McVicker: What?!
Beavis: Hey, Butt-Head. Where the hell are the dead people?
Butt-Head: I'll just take that... (grabs the jar of coins)
Principal McVicker: (pulling the jar from Beavis and Butt-Head) No! You're supposed to be dead! I'll kill you!
(Principal McVicker begins to remember all the stuff Beavis and Butt-Head did over the years in the form of a montage before falling over and having a heart attack.)

    • Reporter: Principal Mcvicker, What is your reaction to the deaths of, uh, Bravis and... Head-butt?

    • (Stewart telling reporter about his memories with the Boys)
Beavis: Man, I sure love baseball. Can I alphabetize your baseball card collection?
Butt-head: Uh, can I like help you build your model airplane?
Stewart: Not today, guys. ... We won't have time for that. Mom said she'd help us make low-fat macaroons.
Butt-head: That would be swell, uh huh huh.
Beavis: Yeah, your mom is cool, Stewart.

    • Mr. Van Driessen: I have a wonderful thought: let's take up a memorial collection in Beavis and Butt-Head's names. We can start a scholarship for other, uh, unique students.
      Coach Buzzcut: Damn hippie talk!
Principal McVicker: No, no. That's a good idea! We can exploit their deaths to raise money for the school. Yeah!
Mr. Van Driessen: Well, that's not what I had-
Principal McVicker: We're doing this! Those two owe the school for all the damage they've caused! Besides, we could use a new teachers' lounge. I'll call the TV station and let them know right away.

    • Coach Buzzcut: (after the flashback of the boys) Just thinking about them offends my sense of human dignity. I hope their deaths were slow and painful!

    • Butt-Head: Damn it, this pisses me off! If we don't see some boobs, or some explosions, or...
Beavis: Or poop! Yeah, that'd be cool.
Butt-Head: Yeah, Yeah. Or like some, uh...butts, then I'm gonna, like, get pissed off.

    • Daria: Well, I guess it's kind of sad that they're dead and all, but it's not like they had bright futures ahead of them.

    • Announcer: Beavis and Butt-head will be right back... if we can find them.

    • Mr. Van Driessen: Students, I have sad tidings, there's been a terrible tragedy, and I wanted you to hear it from me first...
Principal McVicker: (speaking over the P.A.) Listen up: Beavis and Butt-head are dead. There will be an emergency faculty meeting in the teacher's conference room in five minutes, followed by a brief parting outside. (to himself) Yippee!

    • School Secretary: Sir, I have some bad news: Beavis and Butt-head are dead.
Mr. Van Driessen: What! Oh no, it can't be.
Principal Mcvicker: Oh my God... that's the best news I have ever heard.

    • Beavis: (Answering phone) Who are you?
School Secretary: This is Highland High calling. I'm trying to find out why Beavis and Butt-head have not been in school for the past three weeks.
Beavis: Oh um, yeah, they're dead.

    • Butt-Head: Damn it, everything on TV sucks.
Beavis: Yeah, this sucks! Maybe we should like, um, get a new TV.
Butt-Head: Shut up, butt-wad, I'm trying to watch this crap.
