I just started to watch the first season on DVD - the sound is aweful! The background music is LOUD but you can hardly hear when Becker talks! So far I am just watching the Pilot. I hope the rest is better. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem

I didn't notice that, and I'm only 3 episodes away from finishing the set!

So either my set works properly, or you just have very sensative hearing.

You might want to try re-setting sound options in your DVD player's control panel, usually accessible through a menu on its remote. Maybe there's "noise reduction" that you have "off."

I have an inexpensive Dusty's Trail DVD that plays beautifully on one player, yet on another the sound levels are very bad. So sometimes the disc itself is not really the problem.

Thanks - I think it was just the first few shows - the rest of the DVD and the other 2 are OK.
