  • What would you do if a patient didn't want to take your advice?

Jake is looking for a new way to meet women, so he decides to take classes at a local school. John and Reggie help him choose a class, and they all agree on an art class that teaches you how to make sculptures.

At the office, John is having problems with a patient that doesn't seem to be listening to him. He's a busy plumber, who is not exercising or eating properly, and has diabetes. It turns out that he may have just had a small heart attack recently. He is adamant that it didn't happen, and that John is trying to scam him out of money. They end up getting into a heated argument, with John basically saying that he doesn't care if the patient dies. The argument is in front of several patients, which leaves for an awkward moment.

Jake comes back to the diner with a sculture and he seems to be enjoying his time there.

John decides to confront his patient's wife about the heart attack. She is surprised to hear of it, because her husband never bothered to tell her. They argue a heck of a lot in this scene, and John walks away knowing why he doesn't seem to care whether he dies or not.

I thought this was a decent episode. The writing was well done, and I liked the main plot with the patient not obeying John.moreless

    • Becker: I don't have time to be tactful Margaret! Am I wrong here? A guy is crossing the street, a bus is about to hit him, I yell at him "dude watch out!"
Margaret: You keep yelling at me like that, I'm gonna shove you in front of that bus, climbed inside, get behind the wheel and then back up over you again!

    • Becker (speaking into the phone): I don't want to press one for english and two to leave a message, and I damn sure don't want to hold while being treated to Kenny G playing 'Stairway to Heaven'. This is a twenty-four hour customer service line and I'm an irate customer, and I demand to yell at least once to a real person.

    • Becker (to Mr. Marino): Right now you're being stupid, do you want to be stupid and dead?
