  • Warning: This episode deals with a sensitive topic in a somewhat irreverent way.

If you get offended by some people's thoughts about death, you may want to skip this episode, unless you can actually see it within the context of John Becker's character.

A former patient of Becker's dies and leaves him his ashes. John tries to get rid of the vase with the ashes several ways but he ends up keeping the patient's remain. While Becker seemed like he didn't care about the guy and his remains, deep inside he did care, but he didn't want everybody around him to see him showing a "weak" side. In any case, Becker does show some sensitivity when he finds out who the guy really was.

The side story of Reggie's boyfriend was really too exaggerated to be believable and it was more of a filler.
  • John doesn't know what to do when he receives word that an old patient of his has passed away.

John walks into the diner, complaining about an athlete, who signed a big contract to play football, even though he's not too smart. Mike Ditka, one of the patrons in the diner stands up to John and chews him out about it, as John really knows nothing about playing football.

At the office, John is walking out Mrs. Collins, and assures he'll try to figure out her irregular heart beat. It turns out Margaret is on a diet and is really grumpy. A woman comes inside and tells John that a former patient of John's passed away. It seems he left John his ashes in his will, which is a little awkward.

At the diner, Reggie is chatting with her date, Mike about what they could do on the weekend, but he doesn't seem to be all that interested in her. When Mike leaves, Jake yells at Reggie about how she is treated, but the only reason she lets him treat her this way is because he's really good looking. John walks in, shortly followed by Bob, and everyone gets into a discussion about death.

Back at his private office, John is on the phone, trying to get a blood test back immediately so he can try to find the reason for the irregular heartbeat with his patient. Margaret comes in with a bill for someone who can take care of John's deceased patient's ashes.

On the subway, John's trying to leave the man's ashes, but it doesn't go quite as "well" as he had hoped.

At the diner, Reggie is joined by Jake, Bob, and Mike. Mike asks her to pick up dinner, and treats her like crap. John comes in, with his patient still in his hand. Linda comes in, and finds Mike attractive, as he's leaving. They all start talking about Mike, who Reggie will be dumping soon.

Back at the office, John asks Margaret to call the memorial service and tell them that he's going to have him stay there for $1000. Margaret comes back in and tells him that the results from the blood test came back normal, frustrating John, as he can't figure out what's wrong.

At the diner, Reggie is on the phone, and she dumps Mike, with Bob, Linda, and Jake listening to what's going on.

At the office, John realizes the reason for the irregular heart bear, and Linda finds out who Harry really was, a doorman who was lonely.

I enjoyed this episode somewhat. The humor was there, but not as much as there could have been, although I have to admit that when John placed the urn of Harry in front of the door to keep it open, I laughed. It was a very nice episode.
