Maria is a person who sees the flaws in every man. She wants the perfect man. He must be caring, thoughtful and great in bed. He also must feel she is the most special woman in the world. Belle offers to introduce her to the man who meets her criteria not just some day but right now.
Waiting in one of the bordello bedrooms, she is surprised when a man enters and introduces himself as Ted. He immediately tells her how incredible she appears to be and proceeds to prove his ability between the sheets.
Maria tells Belle that she enjoyed the sex but that she afterwards she and Ken got a chance to talk and he was not the type of man that she is looking for. Bell asks Maria what her type of man was like. He response mentioned her roommate and best friend, Ted. Belle asks what is wrong with Ted and Maria responds that he is like a brother and repeatedly states that she and Ted could never work.
Belle continues to ask what it is about Ted that Maria likes, not to fix them up but to find those qualities in another man. Maria reiterates that "Ted and I could never work" but agrees to explain what it is about Ted that she likes.
At home Maria is reading when Ted gets home. They both tease each other about their significant others of the moment in a sibling like manner. Ted asks about the guy Maria met through Belle and she tells him that the sex was good but trying to hold a conversation with him was impossible, she also mentions that Belle asked if the had ever gotten together which draws a negative comment from Ted.
Ted mentions that his is single so Maria asks Belle to work with Ted. This gives Belle the chance to get to know Ted. In short order, Belle gets Ted to admit that Maria is his perfect woman is like but he also discounts the possibility of the them ever getting together. Belle begins giving Ted lesson in affection and lovemaking using a girl named Leila as a training device.
Returning home Ted tells Maria that he agrees with Belle, they should be together. Maria admits that she had thought about it but was afraid to lose their friendship. The next day Belle presents Maria with the perfect man she has found just for her. Maria tells Belle that she has realized that her perfect man is someone she already met but she agrees to continue with the man Bell recommends.
Belle brings Maria's perfect man into the room, Ted! She instructs that they are not to act as best friends but to go with the feelings and become each other's perfect mates. The two act for the first time on the years of pent-up desire and find the ecstasy of love and intimacy only true love can bring.
