Lydia is getting ready for the big photo show, but she can't decide which of her pictures is the best. Beetlejuice loves all of her work, and decides he wants to buy whichever photo she picks - but he doesn't have any money. (Un)fortunately, the Deetzes kitchen sink has sprung a leak, so BJ hatches a plan to pose as a handyman, fix the leak, and make a quick buck. In A Dandy Handyman, Lydia works in her basement darkroom to pick out the perfect photo to enter in the Art Fair, while Beetlejuice schemes to get enough money to buy it from her. His plan: pose as Mr. Beetleman, the Handy-Dandy Handyman, and fix a leaky pipe for Lydia's parents. But he treats his Neitherworld tools shoddily and they turn on him, demanding a little respect. But come on...Beetlejuice respect no one but himself!

Another entertaining first-season ep, this one gives us plenty of glimpes into Beetlejuice's crassness and selfishness - as well as his determination when it comes to anything to do with Lydia's happiness. Charles and Delia are great here, too.moreless

    • Although Beetlejuice only pulls 5 Ghoul Tools out of the toolbox (the ham-mer, the hack-saw, the monkey wrench, the Jack hammer, and the drill sergeant), we can see in later scenes that there are several more, including a regular hammer, a regular saw, a pair of pliers, a Phillips screwdriver, a tape measure, some shears, and a couple of prong-like objects.

    • The "jack-hammer" is a parody of Jack Nicholson, and even does a "Here's Johnny!" impersonation through a splintered door (although the line delivered is "Let's get 'im!").
