BJ acts like a dog in the Neitherworld just to annpy people. to escape a dogcatcher he goes to Lydia's world. Delia, Lydia's mom or step mom cause i really don't see a resemblence, adores the odd stripped dog.
she names him Odious, guess why, and ignores the fact Charles is allergic to dogs, poor guy.
Delia loves her Odious and does all kinds of gooey things for him. Lydia thinks it's nice that Delia is happy but Percy, the cat, and Charles are scared. before she gives him a bath, his worst fear, Odious/ BJ runs away.
Delia goes to look for him, Lydia joins her.
she finds BJ in his ghoul form and he asks her to send him home. she worries him leaving would upset her mom and asks him to staff longer. i think it proves bJ loves Lydia more than he hates Delia.
he plays dog, tries to be bad but Delia sends him to reform school. he Beetlejuices the place and ruins a dog show but Delia still loves him! what a moron!
Jaque dresses up and goes to take him away, Delia doesn't like it, even more when she hears him talk and disappear before her eyes!

When Beetlejuice is collared while in dog form, he gets stuck that way. Lydia calls him to the Outerworld where Delia promptly adopts him as the dog she always wanted.
