Enjoying the US Version so much more than the UK version.

    I don't agree with the OP's post or the other posts that parrot the OP's post.

    The UK version being the original is vastly superior to the US version, and it has nothing to do with how many episodes each one has.

    The US version in later episodes were still doing scene-for-scene but from episodes in the later seasons of the UK version but mixing them altogether.

    They tried the same thing with the remake of Skins.

    I have to disagree, the US version is quite a bit more generic than the UK version.

    It seems especially the more emotional scenes are a little flat(less acting, more 'emo' angle, and sound effects).

    It's pretty good, but in this setup, can't reach the individuality, and personality depth the UK show has.

    Iwatch both and as it is with everything.or should be...to each his own...i would choose uk if i were pressed,but i have enjoyed having the 2 if only because it is fun to see how the same and differant they are...uk is better writen i think..i like the tongue in cheek humor of the uk version and it is more daring...but again it is a matter of taste etc...this last season for both i am verymuch in favor of uk version. i like the new guys and it is more fun...but i watch both every week...

    I agree completely, though a little biased since I've only seen clips of the UK version while I've been watching full episodes of the American. (Can't find them anywhere;; )

    I'm very foreign to the UK so there is still a lot I don't know. Like with Sally, I'm actually surprised to hear that everyone can see her rather than just the boys. So my two cents doesn't count for much, but from what I know the US version does allow for more character development. My favourite part of a show is the interaction, even more than a plot sometimes. I prefer it because, much like you said, the characters just seem to work.

    It can be very dark, but just as much they can pull each other out of it if only for a moment or two. It's why I watch.

    Though with the realism, and I do have to agree with you again but, it is based more on the cultures. I've never actually been to England, or anywhere outside North America for that matter. So I don't really know the culture personally, but maybe with all their belief in fairies and ghosts they do have a church organized extermination program. Maybe. (Sorry, I'm assuming too that you are not of the UK;; And if this is offensive, which I'm betting it is.)

    I glad someone actually came out to say this, all I've been reading was about how much the US version sucks because it's not the original;;

    In the UK we do not have a country wide belief in fairies or ghosts any more than any other western country in 2012. We tend to think of people who do believe in those things as delusional, or crazy, and there is no, 'church organized extermination program'. Any Vampires, werewolves or ghosts reading this forum need not be afraid of visiting the UK on their next hols.

    The US version is much more lighter than the UK and not as intense. It was the intense storylines/relationships between all of the characters that drew me to the show. The US version is more sad than intense. I do like the storyline development of the US version better. There is enough of the UK version with just enough changes to make it different enough to watch as a new show. It does not seem like a 100% rerun. I like the characters better in the UK version but reaaly hate the amount of profanity in the UK version.
