Swampfire / Echo Echo / Big Chill
Dravek / Dasypodidae
We find out that Swampfire's species is called Homo Palustris.
Echo Echo's voice is alot less robotic in this episode, perhaps his voice was slighty changed so easier to understand.
Neither Ben nor the Highbreed call each other by their correct name. *The Highbreed calls Ben, 'Ben-Ben Tennyson' because when Ben introduced himself he said: "My name is Ben; Ben Tennyson". The Highbreed misunderstood him and ignored the pause.
*Ben calls the Highbreed 'Rynie' because his name was too long and hard to say.
The Highbreed also need a cold climate. It is not only the DNAliens and Xenocytes that need it. Therefore the weather machines that are located at their hives are also mandatory for the Highbreed as well.
When Ben gives the Highbreed his jacket "to keep the sun of his head", he shouldn't of used the word 'sun'. Turrawuste has two stars instead of one sun like earth does.
When Ben and the Highbreed first start heading towards the station, the ten on Ben's jacket vanishes for a long period of time.
While Echo Echo, Ben touches his Omnitrix symbol to turn back to human form. This is the first time he has had to do this, having at all other instances only having to will his transformations back. His use of the symbol mirrors his future self in the episode "Ben 10,000" from the original Ben 10 series.
Gwen: Where's the Highbreed? Did he get away?
Ben: (sad) I doubt it.
Ben: I thought I had gotten through to you. I thought you had changed.
Highbreed: This much is true. I have changed. And now, I must pay the price.
Highbreed: I have spent too long with you Ben-Ben Tennyson. And have therefore myself become contaminated.
Highbreed: As clearly evidenced by my uncharacteristic behavior. Risking my own life to save you, a lonely human.
Ben: Rynie, what you did was a good thing.
Highbreed: I have obviously become infected by your mongrel influence, and am now myself unclean.
Ben: But even if I believed that was true, why stay here?
Highbreed: In self-imposed exile as it should be. For I can never return home, or anywhere. I could infect the rest of my kind. The only honorable choice is to remain here.
Highbreed: (proud of his race) Because all lesser beings other than pure unadulterated Highbreeds must be expunged from the universe... including myself.
Ben: (spots the teleporter pod station) There it is. Come on! (looks back at Highbreed) Not the ten paces behind thing again.
Highbreed: Go home, Ben-Ben Tennyson. I shall remain here.
Ben: Did you hit your head or something? There's the teleporter. We can finally get off of this sand trap of doom and get back to our lives.
Ben: (referring to Dravek attack) Thanks for saving me back there... again. This is a huge thing: a sign of personal growth. Proof that underneath it all Highbreeds aren't so bad. That despite those terrible things you may have said before, you really do want to try to be friends with a human.
Highbreed: (after Ben repairs his hand) Why would you help me?
Ben: Why would you help me?(referring to small alien-creature attack)
Highbreed: It was in my own interest to stop that creature from harming you.
Ben: Yeah, well it's in my interest to help anybody who needs it.
Highbreed: You are tired human. I shall take the first watch.
Ben: Oh no! I'm wide-awake. You get some sleep. I'll take the first watch. (Both of them rest)
Highbreed: You and I are more than mere enemies. Highbreed were the very first race in the universe. All species hence, other than pureblooded Highbreeds, are nothing but mongrels; hideous abominations of nature. Especially humans. As soon as I no longer require your aid for my own protection, Ben-Ben Tennyson, I shall eradicate you. And there will be one less vermin infesting a grateful universe.
Ben: You can't really believe all that. Not after everything we've been through. Not after the way I've been helping you.
Highbreed: When you weren't trying to kill me.
Highbreed: Why would I, a Highbreed, be the slightest bit interested in befriending the revolting likes of you?
Ben: I'm just trying to be nice here. Find some common ground or something.
Ben: (after the Highbreed says they're enemies) But we've been able to see past our differences. Probably because I know what it's like to be, well not a Highbreed exactly, but a whole bunch of other kinds of alien creatures kinda like you. Thanks to this (shows Omnitrix) , I get to walk a mile on other life-forms shoes. So I can totally understand what it's like to be them… since I have been them.
Highbreed: Such presumption. But what else is to be expected from a genetically inferior creature?
Ben: It's weird. Despite the fact that I don't trust you any farther than Humongousaur can throw you, it's still pretty cool how we managed to work together to survive. I mean, we may not be friends exactly, but we're not full-on mortal enemies anymore either.
Highbreed: You and I are enemies.
Ben: My name is Ben; Ben Tennyson. What's yours?
HighBreed: I am Reinrassic the Third. Seventh son of the noble HighBreed house of De'Rasa. Direct descendant of the pure-blooded high order of Ra'sect. Heir to the... (interrupted)
Ben: I'm going to call you Reinie.
HighBreed: That is disrespectful, Ben-Ben Tennyson.
Ben: It's a campfire. It's a tradition. You sit around it, and you know, talk.
Highbreed: To you? For what conceivable purpose?
Ben: (warming hands over campfire) Pull up a boulder. Sit down.
Highbreed: (suspicious) So you're inferno pit can deplete me of my strength. I think not.
Highbreed: I shall carry on from here on my own.
Swampfire: All right. Go then!
Highbreed: You have outstayed your usefulness to me.
Swampfire: So have you! (loud roar is heard)
Highbreed: (frightened) We shall camp here for the night.
Highbreed: You have not yet dealt with me at my full strength. See how the cool night air has begun to restore me.
Swampfire: Yeah, I've noticed.
Swampfire: This is as good a place as any to set a camp for the night.
Highbreed: No. We shall walk through the night.
Swampfire: (mocking him) No, we shall camp here for the night.
Highbreed: (threatens Swampfire)I would not use such an insolent tone with me, lesser creature.
Swampfire: (runs up to him) Oh really?
Swampfire: (saves the Highbreed from a land slide) You're welcome.
Highbreed: How dare! You filthy, unhand me.
Swampfire: What is with you? Yeah you don't like the creatures I turn into; I get it. But come on! I was saving you. Cut an alien-monster-guy some slack once and a while.
Swampfire: Swampfire! (starts torching the Dasypodidae) This will only take, a second. Did I say a second? Because I think maybe more like an hour!
Ben: More Draveks underground?
Highbreed: (looks back at the thousands of critters) Worse.
Ben: Come on, worse
Ben: They're little. How can these guys possibly be worse than Draveks?
Highbreed: Now that the danger has passed. I can locate water myself. (searching for water in the ground)
Big Chill: Ugh, gross.
Highbreed: There is water below the sand, if one looks deeply enough. (finds water) There!
Ben: I didn't know you Highbreeds were some kind of plants.
Highbreed: We are not some kind of anything. The Highbreed is the only kind.
Big Chill: (referring to the puddle of water) It was a trap.
Highbreed: Gullible prey can often be lured by the right bait. Many creatures use this to their advantage.
Big Chill: (referring to the Dravek) That thing's getting loose. Let's move.
Highbreed: (offended) You cannot issue commands to me!
Big Chill: Chill dude. Ha, see what I did there?
Highbreed: I do not.
Big Chill: I made a little pun, see?
Highbreed: (referring to the Highbreed species) The one true species thrives in a much cooler climate.
Ben: Humans like it cooler than this too, but you're actually wasting away here! I've got something that can help us both beat the heat. (turns into Big Chill)
Highbreed: (falls on the ground and Ben runs to help) Do not lay your hands on me, vile thing.
Ben: Here, you can use it to keep the sun of your head. (throws the Highbreed his jacket)
Highbreed: I do not take charity from vermin. I merely require a moments rest. (dries up dramatically)
Ben: Rest won't cut it. You're dehydrated already.
Highbreed: If I am forced to travel with you, then you must keep ten paces behind me at all times.
Ben: But I'm the one who knows the way.
Highbreed: Ten paces.
Ben: Fine, whatever. Just get moving.
Ben: (transforms back) See, I'm really just a plain old human.
Highbreed: That is even worse. Be gone foul thing. I shall traverse to the teleporter alone. (Dravek makes the ground shake)
Ben: We'll have to watch each other's backs. We don't want Draveks to get the drop on us. Or under us. You know what I mean.
Echo Echo: Come on! The sooner we get moving, the sooner we get home. (scratches his butt)
Highbreed: Your kind, disgusts me!
Echo Echo: Huh, what did you say? (looks at his hands)
Highbreed: I will not allow such a filthy creature to spend a single moment longer in my presence.
Echo Echo: (referring to teleporter pod station) Where is it?
Highbreed: Impossible to tell.
Echo Echo: Impossible for you maybe. (uses sonic waves to spot the station) That way. It'll take us a day or more to reach on foot. Let's go.
Echo Echo: Um, how do we get off this, this um planet; whatever it's called.
Highbreed: We are on Turrawuste, a desert world; useful only as a teleporter-relay station.
Echo Echo: So how come we didn't beam into the teleporter.
Highbreed: The damage to the pod must've temporarily shifted the focusing axis.
Echo Echo: Can you fix it?
Highbreed: If we find the teleporter pod station on this planet, we won't need to fix it. (referring to Kevin's past mistake) Simply avoid hitting it with a rock while it's activated.
Echo Echo: Then we better get off this planet before anymore of them show up.
Echo Echo: Yes we. You couldn't defeat it alone and I couldn't. If more of them come, our only hope of survival is to fight, together! You know I'm right.
Highbreed: I know no such thing.
Echo Echo: (referring to giant worm-like alien) What was that thing?
Highbreed: A Dravek. Its kind is numerous on this planet.
Echo Echo: (ground shakes) Was that an earthquake? (giant worm-like alien appears) Whoa! Going to need back up. (on the jaws of the worm) Now. Let's try this again.
Highbreed: Your friend interfered with the teleporter settings.
Echo Echo: Well, to be fair, we were a little distractive. But with you trying to kill us and all…
Highbreed: That's right, I was. In fact I still am. (attacks Echo Echo and misses)
Kevin: (referring to Highbreed) Don't let him get in that thing. It's a teleporter-pod. (throws a piece of the floor and accidentally activates it)
Highbreed: You've damaged the transmission field. (gets sucked in along with Echo Echo)
Ben: I got it covered. (turns into Echo Echo)
Echo Echo: (simultaneously) Echo Echo! Who's the winner? (the Highbreed attacks Kevin)
Kevin: Nice going Mr. "I got it covered".
Echo Echo: Hey, I'm all over it! (they jump on the Highbreed)
Highbreed: Don't touch me creature.
Ben: (rumbling in background) Did you hear something?
Highbreed: I heard nothing except you, human, which is the same as nothing.
Ben: (fake laugh) Ha ha.
Highbreed: I believe I'm beginning to grasp your concept of humor.
Ben: Phew! Hot enough for ya?
Ben: No, see, I wasn't really asking. It's just an expression. It means it is hot out.
Highbreed: It is obviously hot. I do not see the point of reiterating what we both already know.
Ben: Makes me glad I didn't say, "It's not the heat, it's the humidity."
Highbreed: There is no humidity! It is in fact the heat!
Ben: I know! I'm just trying to make conversation.
Highbreed: Microcephalic vermin-ridden carcass!
Echo Echo: That's an insult, right?
Turrawuste is a desert-filled planet with two stars. Draveks (giant worm-like aliens) and Dasypodidaes (leech-like aliens) are two native creatures that live there.
Big Chill can fold his wings in when he's not using them, making his "robe" an optical illusion.
We finally learn of the Highbreeds' goal for taking over the universe. They were the first species to exist, and thus they believe that any non-pureblood Highbreed should be exterminated.
Echo Echo's fourth appearance in the series.
Highbreed can find water by rooting tentacles from their stomach. The tentacles go through the ground, suck up any water, and bring it directly into the Highbreed's stomach.
Alien Form(s) Used:
1) Echo Echo
2) Big Chill
3) Swampfire (x2)
It is already known that the Highbreed requires the extremes of cold weather to survive; in opposite, the heat can be devastating to their health.
The Highbreed have the ability to shoot their claw tips from the ends of their fingers. It's one of their main weapons.
Stargate- Relay Station:
The teleportaion relay station which connects two worlds is similar to the title device from the movie and subsequent TV series of the Stargate franchise.
The Draveks that Ben and the Highbreed face on the dessert planets are similar to the "sandworms" seen in the Movie Beetlejuice.
The Return of Sarbuck:
Ben and the Highbreed act as friends and enemies is similar to Starbuck and a Cylon in the Galactica 1980's episode "The Return of Sarbuck."
The Highbreed commander seems to share a lot in common with Vilgax from Ben 10. They both greatly dislike Ben, plan to take over the universe with their large army, have tendrils, speak coarsely, and have 3 fingers. It appears that the people working on the show wanted to bring in a second Vilgax.
Interrupting a king's full title, which Ben shortened to "Rynie," is an inside reference to "X = Ben + 2", where the dictation of the Emperor's full title keeps being interrupted.
