The episode opens up pretty interestingly; Kevin 11 and Ben are in the midst of a heated battle, and the next thing you know they get teleported into a spaceship that kidnap warriors and use them as gladitors for entertainment purposes. Not the most original idea in the world (though I've come to accept that rarely anything in Ben 10 is original) but the charm of the episode comes from its adventurous feel to it. Nonstop adventure in a foreign environment and the pacing just proportions and levels everything out well nicely. Not to mention the action isn't so bad at all, and for the little time we've had of them, the characters introduced in this episode are pretty nicely developed. Solid episode.
Kevin 11 is in this episode and he's my favorite character in the series. He still has all of Ben alien powers except for Cannonball. They were fighting as usual and then get sucked up by some creepy alien that wants them to fight till death along with other aliens. Ben and Kevin sort of form an alliance momentarily and try to get all the aliens and themselves back to their planet. When they finally get the chance to go home Kevin decides to take the chance to still fight with Ben but since Ben had a alien slave somewhat he watched his back and Ben was able to get back home.
It is adventurous of Ben to try to work with all the other aliens to escape, and it's also adventurous of the writer to try to fit so much plot together, with minimal success.
Let me elaborate on my second statement some more. This episode is fairly well-developed, with Slix first testing out Ben and Kevin's powers, then persuading them to join his side, then letting them fight Technorg over, and over, again. However, this results in too much teleportation between two places, and hence some confusion from the audience. Just why are the same battle scenes being repeated all over again? Why does Slix keep saying cryptic sentences, then sending them out to fight, then repeating the entire process again? The scene transition is weak, but I like Technorg's faithfulness and the idea that Kevin may just vanish forever. I am getting quite tired of him.
Diamondhead battles the still-mutated Kevin, who had yielded Gwen and Max unconscious. A droid named Slix Vigma observes their fight, recognizing them as potential gladiators. Amidst the combat, a teleportation beam takes Diamondhead and Kevin to a huge ship called the Mega Cruiser, where life or death gladiator matches are regularly held between slaves captured from different alien races. There, Vigma makes Ben and Kevin a team, bonding them with shackles that transfer pain from one to the other. With no choice, Ben and Kevin battle another captive, Technorg, during which Ben teaches Kevin new attacks combining Omnitrix alien abilities in order to win. Though Kevin intends to kill Technorg, Ben restrains him and spares his opponent's life. After the fight, Ben and Kevin rally the other prisoners, who nearly all escape. However, Kevin traps Ben with the intent to kill, revealing that he still bears a grudge. Fortunately, Technorg abides by a code of honor and saves Ben, sending him back to Earth. Kevin is left aboard the Mega Cruiser with Technorg.
This episode was my favorite before I saw Back with A Vengeance. I loved the idea of Ben and Kevin forced to work together to fight other aliens. My favorite scenes would have to be the ones where Ben and Kevin were picking on each other in the middle of a fight and the scenes where Kevin tries to hurt Ben, but he ends up getting shocked. I also liked the part where the aliens in the stands find out that Diamond Head is actually Ben. They go from being completely shocked and appalled, to thrilled and cheering. I thought it was funny. I also like Ben's new ally, Technorg. He's awesome! I hope he shows up in another episode really soon.
The episode starts where the RV has been attacked. In the middle of nowhere, Ben appears as Diamondhead, where he fights Kevin in his mutated form. Gwen and Grandpa Max are inside the RV, hurt, but not severely injured. A beam of light suddenly hits Ben and Kevin.
Diamondhead fights a giant robot droid, and he was able to disable its functions with ease, but when he transforms back into Ben, the audience is amazed, as well as a mysterious figure who watches the battles. Kevin seems to be battling the same enemy in another arena, but he did not have trouble with it.
The mysterious figure reveals himself as Slix Vigma, and he tells Ben and Kevin to fight alongside each other, an order that they could not easily accept.
I was completely lost when i saw this episode. I was like, Whose kevin? and how did Ben turn him like that? But, the episode was a good one. I liked how they emphasized Ben's resourcefulness and ability to kick alien tale without the ominitrix in this one. In other episodes, he seems to just stand there and wait fot the attack to hit him. But i still like the series. The only complaint i might have is the aleins coherence. i can NOT understand half the things coming out the big guys mouth. It seems muffled sort of. Thank God for subtitles. Well, If there were an episode to come in on, this would be it, despite the fact that its a continuation of a three part line...so far. Its a fun one.
Every hero has a villain who's a dark reflection of their own powers. Spider-Man has Venom, Green Lantern has Sinestro and now, Ben 10 has Kevin 11. The purpose of this episode was to establish Kevin as the antagonist in that position, which was good. Kevin also got introduced Cannon Bolt, which could make for some interesting confrontations and conflicts in future episodes. As well, him being warped away while fighting Technorg could lead to even more future developments. This episode was kind of just setting up possible storylines as well as introducing a new recurring villain, and it was a pretty enjoyable episode to boot.
Ben and Kevin are captured on an alien spaceship to fight as a team in series of alien gladitor games. They meet other aliens who need their help. While there and after a fight Ben makes unlikely friend. Will he and Kevin and get out of this in one piece?
This show was totally WICKED AWESOME!!!! It reminded me a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle episode when Don, Leo, Raph, and Mikey are transported into outer space and forced to play in alien gladitor games like Ben and Kevin. They makes a few friends among their fellow alien prisoners and plot an escape. Heroes and villains being forced to become allies in most unlikey situations is definitly a good was to describe it. Things like have happened thoughout superhero history. Even though Kevin is still Ben's enemy he still proved himself a good alley like Technorg.
First, a setup thrown at you straight from the beginning in less than three seconds. I personally would've liked to see Kevin and Ben fight more on Earth in the beginning, but this episode cut right to the chase. Ben and Kevin are transported to a space-ship fighting circuit and fight similar robots in different arenas. The master of the fights's interest is piqued by Ben and Kevin so he chains them together. Shocker, not... They fight the champion and win with ease. Ben and the rest of the alien fighters aboard the ship team up and take over the ship. As Upgrade, Ben takes over the robotic leader and unlocks the escape pod. After a quick fight between Ben and Kevin, which was won by Ben thanks to Cannonbolt the only alien Kevin didn't have the powers of, Ben transported himself back to Earth and Kevin was left on the ship with the ship's very ticked off ex-champion. This episode was okay, but I've seen better and I've only been watching the series for about a week.
This had Kevin, and any eps with Kevin is already great, but this eps was perfect. It made Ben and Kevin work together, and together no one can beat them, not even Vigex (or however you spell his name).
Showing that Kevin's powers were only at one tenth the usuall stenght was something I was wonding about, and they ansurred all the question I had, and even more.
Ben showing Kevin how to make up for the lost by combinding the powers was wise, and to think I thought Ben was just stupit.
The ending could not of been better; Ben using his new alien, Ben getting saved by that one guy, and Kevin still being the bad guy.
This was one of the best episodes of Ben ten. I loved the fact that Ben and Kevin are forced to work together. It all started when Ben and Kevin were fighting in the middle of windmill field. They were fighting and all of a sudden they were taken into a space ship and they were forced to fight a giant robot. After the alien that controlled thi ship saw that they were enemies he forced them to fight against the champion; But they had to do it together and if one of them injured the other one would get hurt to. They kind of disagreed on what to do during the fight, but they finally decided to fight as a team. After defeating the champion they decided to escape. They got the other fighters to fight with them against the alien that kept them captive. Finally with the help pof team work they were able to break out. But that wasn't the best part. The best part was that Kevin got stuck in the spaceship along with the champion, and got sent to some other galaxie. All the action was just great. This was Ben 10's best episode ever. It was GREAT!
I like about this show that Ben try to do some helping out,But it was kevin doing the bad things.Almost in the middle of the scene they did get along just a short time. One Alien Technorg once a proud champion now became a friend to Ben and stoping kevin.
In the Review,What comes around comes in a good way stay that way.For some others what comes around to them comes in a bad way."Its Like saying You can make a enemys by doing something wrong even if you try to help out and they do not wanted to listen to you Its better to let it go.If your Enemys will not let go it better to find a better another friend that can see and help out"Okay,I know I do not sound this out right. I'm not good on this.I hope you understand me. Thanks.
This episode was good but part of it seemed as i saw it before in other shows( megas xlr did something like this). I liked how ben and kevin had to work together because they were both forced to but also to try to escape the ship. One thing that we learn from this episode that kevin is both stronger and weaker than ben at the same time in the way each of forms he absorbed from ben are 1/10 as powerful but used in combination can be more powerful than ben and any of his forms. At the end of the episode ben defeated kevin with his new cannonball form taking kevin at suprise.
This episode, like I said above, was a great episode but part of it they could of done more to and the concept of the episode was used so many times( justice league, megas and so on). I give this episode an 8.5/10 because it made more sense than the last comic book episode(Qwen 10)
I liked how Kevin & Ben teamed up and defeated the Master control. And it was very nice to see them in action in a arena. Canonbolt returns in this episode and defeats Kevin once & for all! Too bad we can't see him again cause of the champion. R.I.P! Ah well! He was evil anyways (By now he's in... you know...)! Cool episode!
