  • If nothing else, funny.

Ben 10 looks to follow the mold of the 90's action cartoons. Trouble is brewing in a city from a villain you won't see again, and then a hero comes out to save the day before the end of the episode. The problem with this formula is that it's been too played out; it's what an entire era of action cartoons was based on in the 90's. The execution wasn't bad, but the villain and story were just way too typical. If nothing else though it was pretty funny; the childish comebacks Gwen and Ben have for each other, and grandpa's obsession with eating abnormal "natural" food.
  • I thought this was a good episodes.

During a trip to Washington D.C., Ben confronts Dr. Animo, a disgruntled scientist who's Transmodulator can mutate living animals, and even resurrect dead ones, and eventually learns a lesson about what being a hero really means. It's In Washington D.C., Ben is starting his superhero career by rescuing some people from a burning building by using Heatblast. At the same time, he chases down some jewel thieves. Even though he's gotten the hang of the hero aspect, he still doesn't have the reward part down, since he expects recognition for all that he does. In another part of town, a scientist named Dr. Animo is trying to complete his Transmodulator, a device that can mutate normal animals into giant versions of themselves, as well as reanimate dormant cells, effectively bringing back the dead. The second function of the Transmodulator requires some parts, so he goes to the nearest M-Mart to get them, leading him into Ben. Ben saves the store, but Dr. Animo escapes. The trio pursues Dr. Animo to the Museum of Natural History, where he completes his Transmodulator and reanimates a T-Rex. Despite Ben's efforts, he escapes once again. On top of that, Gwen is kidnapped by Dr. Animo's giant bird. Some insight into Dr. Animo's past reveals that he is chasing after the Verites Award, which he had lost to a Dr. Kelly five years earlier. After saving Gwen, Ben is able to stop Dr. Animo quest for the reward. Seeing some of himself in Dr. Animo, Ben realizes that being a hero can be its own reward.

I think this episode was pretty good in terms of the animation, but the plotline itself is far from innovative. I have lost count of how many times I have encountered dinosaurs from a museum coming to life thanks to the work of an evil scientists. Incidentally, I have seen thousands of episodes about crazy scientists seeking recognition through devious but ingenious ways. This kinda gives a bad impression of scientists. They are in reality not so clever, and not so evil either. As usual, Grandpa Max was flawlessly the "brains" of the whole operation, with Ben surprising viewers with intellectual decisions from time to time.
  • Another great installment!!!!

This episode is action-packed, especially the attack in the mart, that was pure awesomeness!!! Ben hopelessly wants the gold sumo slammer card as a reward, but Max goes all 'heroes don't need a reward' and Ben gets ticked off. Then they track him to a museum where he revived a mammoth and dinosaurs! Gwen is captured and breaks a cellphone in the process. They recover her and at the nick of time, the city is saved from wacko Animo. This is another great installment made by the writers of Ben 10, and should never be forgotten and be remembered as a great episode!!!
  • Awesome episode! Battle at the US capitol!

Oh, man! What an awesome episode! It started out with Ben, as Heat Blast, rescuing a mother and her child from a burning building. This also reveals the name of a new villain: Dr. Animo. He has a weapon that he calls the "Transmodulator" that can bring animals back to life. Ben also wanted sooooo bad to get a gold Sumo Slammer card, but someone has already gotten it. At M-Mart, as Grey Matter, he checked in every box of Sumo Smacks cereal but did not find a single gold Sumo Slammer card. He also used Four Arms to battle Dr. Animo's giant bird. He also used Stinkfly to battle the bird and save Gwen. But, in the end, the police arrest Animo and take him to jail. I hope Dr. Animo stays in jail for the rest of his life.
  • When a crazy scientist named Dr. Animo plans to turn Washington D.C. into Washington B.C, Ben learns what being a hero is all about.

This isn't my favorite episode, but it was still pretty good. I don't care for Dr. Animo. He is very very very creepy and disturbed. My favorite scenes include: Heatblast asking the kid about the Sumo Slammer card, Ben fighting the mutated animals in the store, Gwen being kidnapped by the giant bird and the comment she makes about going camping with Grandpa Max and Ben, Stinkfly telling Gwen that she had better learn how to fly if she throws up on him, and the scene at the beginning where Heatblast was sitting in the front seat of the RV and was accidentally setting the seat on fire.
  • INtroduces 3 main transformations, and brings us Dr. Animo.

Dr. Animo is a crazed scientist who does experiments on animals. But he goes loose because he didn't win an award, and Ben has to stop him.

Dr. Animo, aside from Kevin 11, is my favorite villain. And he's a great addition to the show, as he has some backstory that can be delved into.

Stinkfly is one of the less popular aliens, although my favorite, and Grey Matter is kinda half and half with most forum posters. But Fourarms is the big lumbering guy you see in every series: even if he's not as funny. Fourarms becomes a pivotal member of Ben's alien team, as he uses him many times in Seasons 1 and 2.

Overall, I do agree that Washington B.C. is not the best episode in the series. But even through the first and second seasons, it remains one of my favorites.
  • This episode is not my fav, I've definitly seen better. I still think it's good. The regenerated T-rex was cool. When Fourarms was introduced Ben seemed to know what to do. Dr. Animo is a pretty whacky character, this show is full of surprises.

The pun that Dr. Animo used was pretty funny. "What's the matter, ya gotta frog in your throat, or is that the other way around, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" What a name for an episode! Washington "B.C." instead of D.C. Also, the giant cocketial was tight, and how Gwen smacked it in the face with a staff stick thingy. I wonder why he enlarged a hamster? Also, what's with the mutating animals only getting bigger instead of getting twenty eyes or something. Through and through this show is the coolest. Ben 10 is awesome.
  • Some observations about the episode - such as, how nice of the Omnitrix to retain as much of Ben's clothing as possible! I read somewhere that it injects alien DNA into its host, and apparently it also preserves fabric and redesigns. Oh yeah. More to come

    interesting -

Heatblast moves people from an upper floor to the ground with a...heat tornado? He does it without touching them. Must have something to do with air pressure from hot and cold fronts being able to move objects (some other geek can figure out the physics ;) )

    curious -

Ben's transformation sequence into Stinkfly shows 4 eyestalks popping out of his face, rather than his human eyes growing out on stalks and then dividing. Wonder why?

On second thought never mind! It's fine as is!

    gross -

Stinkfly's eyes spit goop? What is that, eye mucus? And he's worried about **Gwen** vomiting on him? (besides the thing about wet wings not working)

dorky - Ben can't go hero as the Omnitrix recharges, and dons a helmet before jumping on a scooter to battle mutated animals. An impatient kid stops to put on a helmet? Oh, come on...no matter how *smart* that is, I'd bet the director just put that in for the censors. :)

This episode was diffenintly interesting. Dr. Animo is pretty much insane and is just trying to geta trofie. If you ask me he has personal problems, but that's just if you ask me. We get to see another of my favorites of the ten gray matter. He's tinny but don't underestimate him he's funyddAll though it was pretty stupid to use the omnitrcks just to get a card of corse one of you friends cof foff mxb cofff coff would do the same but you didn't hear that from me. So he makes a few dinos come to lifen like it hasn't been done before. Oh will all in all this was not the worstepiode in the world. We saw be new heros. Gray matter and 4 arms oh yeah I forgot all about one of them stink flie. He's cool. Howcd I have forgotten him. Oh will. So this is a pretty good episode if I do say so myself and I do.
  • Woohoo! Dinosaurs!!

I love the name: Washington B.C! Very clever!

Washington B.C. was a great episode starting off the numerous villains bound to be seen throughout time. This time, we met up with Dr. Animo, the first human villain recognized in the series. Dr. Animo is the general mad-scientist type villain, and man is he definitely cuckoo! He used a transmogrifier, I think that is how it is pronounced, to reanimate dinosaurs from fossils and to create monsters out of already living animals; such as the cockatiel.

This episode is really funny with Gwen and Ben’s constant quarrelling and Ben’s attitude as his super-aliens!

Prehistory meets our time! Oh Yeah!

P.S.: Grey Matter is so cool in this episode!!

This episode was cool, and funny at some parts. This episode also tells how Ben loves the SUMO cards, after he saved people from a burning building as Heatblast. Later on, he met Dr. Animo, a twisted mad scientist who has a desire to get an award he did not receive. Ben eventually comes to the rescue, along with Max and Gwen, and saves the day from Animo's giant group of "pre-historic" modified animals.

Heroes introduced in this episode: Grey Matter, Four Arms, Stinkfly.

Heroes now known shown in the episode: Heatblast
