  • Maggie the anesthesiologist becomes fond of the pilot. There's also a boy who learns courage from him.

This is one of the best Casey episodes. Maggie is touched by Eddie's charm and dash. Cliff Robertson is great as Eddie. The American Indian boy who runs errands for the hospital staff makes and flies a kite with Eddie's help. In the end, Eddie dies from the operation he was reluctant to have because so many doctors failed him before. It was one of the saddest endings - one where Maggie cried, 'You know, I liked that guy a lot." She only cried I think in one other episode where Patty Duke played (surprise!) a girl who ends up blinded by an operation.moreless
