Everyone thinks that Benson is out of it when he sees, hears, and talks to Jessica Tate's ghost.

    "Superb"
About a year and a half after "Soap" ended, we were rewarded with this, the final appearance of Katherine Helmond as Jessica Tate. While several other questions from that series' finale were left unanswered, it makes sense that only Jessica's story would be resolved on BENSON. After all, she appeared in a first season episode, while SOAP was still on the air. And the friendship between Benson and Jessica was the sentimental highpoint of the earlier series.

I admit, I was never a huge BENSON fan (the hell with being politically correct, he was just much FUNNIER on SOAP), but this episode was really special to me.

    • Clayton: Calm down, Benson. It's just politics. Benson: It's not just politics, Clayton. It's people suffering. Clayton: That's what politics is.

    • In a correction to the previous post, it was revealed at the end of this episode that Jessica was not dead after all, but in a coma, leaving the story open-ended.

    • This episode can be described as a conclusion to the cliffhanger final episode of "Soap." In 1981, Soap was cancelled by ABC and it ended by Jessica getting shot by revolutionaries. But the announcer said "Was it blanks?" Anyway, Jessica describes that she did get killed by the revolutionaries and some other things that close the book on "Soap." I think the most coincidental thing is that this is the 93rd episode of Benson and Jessica got shot on the 93rd and final episode of "Soap." And this, out of all episodes concludes the Jessica tale of Soap. But what about everyone else who was faced in ambushes and death? I don't know. You'll have to use your imagination on this one everybody.
